As the title says. Looking for some pros and cons of the two. If you like something else and you’re not/are a fan of this, that and the other but has nothing to do with either of these stocks, that’s cool but I don’t care, for the purpose of this thread.
Just looking for side by side comparable opinions of the Luth ar mba-2 vs the magpul PRS which I have immense experience with. So I guess to clarify, I’m looking at how the luth mba-2 holds up to the magpul or if it’s just cheap.
If it matters, I’m looking at replacing a KAC m110 stock.

I own one LuthAR stock and two Magpul PRS stocks. Stick with the Magpul stock, it’s way better.

Th LuthAR stock has to be adjusted with a hex key (Allen wrench). It is lighter than the Magpul due to thinner material. It just feels cheap compared to the Magpul.

The two Magpul stocks are on my Ar15 with 223 Wylde barrel and my PA10 in 308 while the LuthAR is on my 22lr AR.

Not sure why @12Bravo20 said his Luth-AR requires a hex key for adjustment - it’s adjusted with two finger knobs. He must be left handed as well, as his cheek piece is on backwards - both knobs should be on the same side. The hex key - included and retained on the stock itself - is only needed to move the adjustment struts forward or backwards - which is really only needed if you’re wanting to move the cheekpiece forward or backward, which is only done once or twice, ever. I don’t know why someone would need to move the LOP adjustment strut, ever. Vertical on the cheekpiece and LOP on the butt pad are adjusted with the thumb knobs.

The PRS is heavier, and the cheekpiece is more solid. If you put a lot of cheek into the Luth-AR, it does flex a little. Not enough to be detrimental to eye position, but enough to notice.

Both work well, and I prefer the lighter weight of the Luth-AR for hunting/field use. The PRS rides a bench bag better.

Yeah now that I think about it, I needed the hex key to switch everything from right hand to left hand only. It has knobs to adjust. My memory isn’t the best when I have too much blood in my coffee system

Now that I have more coffee in me.

The adjustments on the LuthAR are not as smooth as with the PRS. And Varminterror is correct in that you definitely will notice some flex with the LuthAR stock. The PRS is rock solid (and yes heavier).

It boils down to what your primary use of the rifle will be. Will you shoot it mostly from a bench or supported position or will you be carrying it more? Do you want lighter weight (with some flexing) or do you want no flexing and heavier?

Hopefully the picture in my first reply will help you compare the two.

I briefly had a Luth-AR stock. I would choose to adjust with a hex key as the knobs are HUGE. Well over an oz each. I'd replace them (tried it for a bit... it works) with cap screws.

I hated the carbine length adjustment on the one I had, hated the anti-wobble lock (it DID require a tiny allen key!) and found the cheekpad to be way too thin so not suitable in any way. I went with a CTR and am modding it to have a flat base for bags.

Close though. The Luth-AR is a very valiant attempt, the overall shape is nice (flat bottom!), the body is fiber-reinforced so very rigid, and I have hopes they will continue improvements or people will make aftermarket bits for them.
