I haven't owned a S&W semi auto since I purchased a model 59 in early 70's. I recently (4-5 months ago) purchased a Canik MC9, which I absolutly love. Problem is the Canik had a return to battery issue that reaccured after about 500 rds. The Canik was purchased for CC and the issues are unacceptable, it's back at the Mothership at the moment. The Shield Plus is almost the exact same size as the Canik, so I might consider going with the shield. Any owners or folks that have some experience would be greatly appreciated.

I own one. It’s great. Not heavy, trigger is good it’s accurate out to 15 yards (I’m a rookie). It’s comfortable enough during AIWB carry and it still has cut outs for optics. 13 round mags aren’t the biggest but it’s a micro so it’s good.

Alas, I struggled to successfully mount a TLR7A to this pistol. In the end I failed.

The regular Shield is more concealable, but the Shield Plus is fine (mine is in .45ACP). No complaints at all. Does what it's supposed to do pretty well.
I would disagree, the Plus is the same size as the original Shield 9mm/40S&W. It's just better designed, to accept double stack magazines. The Shield 45 is a slightly larger frame overall, and isn't available in the 'Plus' version.

I just went to grab it to prove you wrong, and....you're not wrong. That's a .45 Shield Performance Center that I have.

My bad.

I have a Shield Plus, along with a G43X, G48, and a P365X. All are well designed and built, have good sights and decent triggers (slight edge going to the P365X over the Shield Plus as having the better trigger) and are very ergonomic for someone like myself with small hands.

The shield plus is my daily carry. If you can still get the bug out bag version that comes with extra mags, that's the way to go. It comes with night sights and it's cut for an optic. It's awesome.
Speaking of extra mags, S&W is currently offering a promotion deal (which includes the Shield Plus) until August 31st that provides an extra 3 magazines with your purchase.

My LGS has the shield plus for $389. Probably cheaper on line, but, I buy local unless I have no other choice. The extra 3 mags is a nice bonus right now.

After much internal debate I went from the Shield to the Shield + early last year. Better fit to my hand and insignificant effect on concealment. At +/- 1,000 rounds through it, its been 100% reliable. Glad I made the change the Shield + is my primary CCW.

I went from the original Shield to the Shield plus PC model and it really good. The old one was 100% reliable but the new one has such a better trigger in it and holds 13 rds if you get the magazine floor plates for it. I can only get 12 rounds in mine at the moment.
Mine came with a 10rd and 3) 13 rd magazines and a S&W cleaning kit. It's by far my favorite ccw. I looked at the others, the hellcat, the 365, and another one I can't remember right now, but the dependability of the Shield kept drawing me towards the Shield + PC so I ended up with it.

It's good. Complete improvement over the original shield, which was a very good gun in my experience. The shield plus has made my original shield and xds obsolete. Yeah, people will say no functional gun is truly obsolete, but comparing apples to apples, the shield plus is superior. Sold the original shield immediately and still holding on the xds as it has proven itself, and it's hardly worth anything on the used market.

I love my Shield Plus. I didn't think I'd ever find a carry pistol until buying the Plus, wow it's great!

I’ve owned one since march and like it a lot.

When it comes to semi autos my preference is Smith and Glock so my plus is like all my other Smiths rock solid dependable

I have the Performance center shield plus 9, optic ready plus 9 and and one in 30 super carry I got used dirt cheap. All three are excellent.

I carried a Shield 1.0 9mm for 4-5 years and only replaced it when the Shield Plus came out. My 1.0 was 100% (truly 100%) reliable. My Plus took 100-150 rounds to break in, and now runs like a champ. I had my tritium sights moved from the 1.0 to the Plus, so the sight cuts are the same, and use the same 1.0 holsters I had. I'm very impressed with the Shield line generally. My Plus fits my hand as though made just for me, it's a soft shooter with a good trigger, and I shoot it better than I did my G19. The bottom line for me is this: I like my Plus well enough that it may be the last belt-carry CC gun I ever buy. It's that good.

I have both the original Shield and the Shield+. The original Shield wears a red dot while the plus is open sights. I got a real bargain on the Shield and splurged on a trigger upgrade, the plus trigger is as good out of the box as the upgraded one. I regularly shoot the Shield in a “short gun” match at 15 yards. I always shoot 90%+ on a B-8 target with it. If my eyes were better (younger) I could do the same with the plus. Both guns are 100% reliable. Great guns for the money, IMO.

I have a 1.0 that I carried for a while. Replaced it with a Taurus gx4 and it's been great. But I'll buy a world plus for my daughter especially now that they have come down in price.
