I have 2 Garands. I generally prefer more modern rifles, but I do get a bit tingly when I fire a M1.

I actually think the M1/M14 pattern is one of the better rifles to shoot left handed, but the technological advances with (especially) the AR/m16 platform cannot be ignored.

Not gonna disagree here...... neither can what an M2 ball round will do at 400 yards, or 40 feet.
Thanks!Good runnin' your rifle.
I'm not really sure, to be honest. I always load clips so that the top round is on the right hand side. What's w/ the two-hand reload, though?
Got the top round on the wrong side?

I think I could have been a ricochet but that area has weird wind behavior too. What was it that hit the ground in front of shooter in video at 2:20 mark?
Almost looks like a pulled shot. Jacket separation?
I shoot a Garand left hand. Never thought prone that it was a problem. I do load my clips with top rounds on left side. It allows better leverage inserting the clip. At 600yds, I use a single shot adapter so it’s no problem.
I hook the little finger on the slide hook and push with my thumb if needed.
After replaying the video a few more times, I think it was a piece of bullet bounced back from the plates!
It happens. One of the reasons we wear eye pro. Rifle stuff usually doesn’t make it back but handguns and particularly .22, and particularly on loose plates sitting on stands, sends a lot of frag back toward the shooter. I’ve had some draw blood, stick into my skin through my shirt, etc. What was it that hit the ground in front of shooter in video at 2:20 mark?
