M1/Garand/Quiz/Real Easy

Hi all
Where did the Ordnance Dept., in Washington and Springfield Armory receive their funds to build the M1 Garand. Second who made up the work force at Springfield Armory, in Mass. Remember the US was in a massive Depression.
This should help out the newbee's
