I don't see a reason why a standard Zastava trigger can't be installed - should be a straight forward job.
That was my initial thoughts when I first seen the gun...but I have had a hell of time finding any information on the thing.Yep, the 57s can be had with a dingus, way better than a slide or frame safety cobbled on.
Thanks for your input I think I can get a trigger for 35.00 U.S. ...but I am concerned about tearing into it with no knowledge and very limited information on it....would love a diagram on it.I don't see a reason why a standard Zastava trigger can't be installed - should be a straight forward job.
I'll give them a call Monday. The pics on that site show three different safety configurations. Have you contacted them?
Zastava M57(TT33) is quite easy to disassemble completely - that video covers it quite well:
I was ecstatic when I saw the import safety was in the trigger ......until I shot it... but if I can replace it with a normal trigger I will have the gun as it was meant to be...sort of.Only thing is the Zasty 57s use an unconventional 9 round magazine which can be a wee harder to locate, and some don't consider it a "true" Tokarev due to that and the longer grip.
Still the grip is an improvement for many ergonomically and you get an extra shot.
I only wish all the old Toks were imported with trigger dinguses. Countless guns have instead been shoehorned with ugly and shoddy safeties.
You should be able to, the Toks are pretty straightforward guns. Also while you're in there snap that damn magazine safety off.I was ecstatic when I saw the import safety was in the trigger ......until I shot it... but if I can replace it with a normal trigger I will have the gun as it was meant to be...sort of.
will do .....will try.You should be able to, the Toks are pretty straightforward guns. Also while you're in there snap that damn magazine safety off.
