So I'm reusing an upper and lower that was a pistol for a rifle. 6.5 Grendel is the cartridge, with a 20" barrel.
I plan on buying Magpul's PRS Lite stock. I ordered a A2 lower extension with buffer and spring. Should be on my porch today or tomorrow. But now after reading more of the specs for the Magpul, it calls for an A5 extension.
What are the differences between the A2 and A5? I'm wanting an adjustable stock, but not the collapsing type. Is there a comparable stock like the PSR Lite that would work with the A2 tube?
TIA!

You are going to want a carbine buffer tube for the PRS Lite stock, that is what buffer tube it is designed for.. Length of pull is a bit long even with a carbine stock. The PRS Lite won't work with aa rifle buffer tube. Yes it will work with the A5 adjustable buffer tube, SR25 adjustable buffer tube and carbine buffer tubes.

If you are wanting to use a rifle buffer tube, then you want something like the Gen 3 PRS stock or one of the Luth-AR stocks designed for rifle buffer tubes.

Thanks for the explanation. I only have experience with some lower kit builds in the past. I had given it thought on the Gen 3 PRS, but I'm not sure of the weight balance. I will look more into the Luth-AR too.

The Luth stock is what I went with other than an A2 stock for a Rifle action.
About 8oz lighter than the PRS

I have the MagPul PRS Gen 2, PRS Gen 3, and PRS Lite. I also have a Luth-AR MBA-1 and MBA-3 stock. I will say the Luth-AR stocks are definitely lighter than the MagPul stocks. But there is a small trade off. The Luth-AR stocks are a little flimsy compared to MagPul PRS stocks. Both brands are definitely usable and easy to adjust.

I definitely prefer the PRS Gen 3 the most. I would rank them from first to last choice in this order; PRS G3, PRS G2, PRS Lite and then Luth-AR stocks. I had to go with the Luth-AR MBA-3 (carbine buffer tube) on my Savage MkII rifle with a Rigid Alloy chassis. I was going to use the PRS Lite on it but the length of pull was too long with the PRS Lite.

PS: Arm or Ally usually has the best (lowest) price on the PRS Gen 3 stocks.

I've been eyeing grabagun site, the PRS Gen3 list for $176.99. But all in all, their prices are pretty decent. I'd never came across that sight before. Thanks!
