An additional angle for the Leftist (my wife is from East Germany and yes Leftist is the correct term for these people) to greatly increase cost and provide for indirect national registration is by requiring mandatory firearm insurance. This will also provide a large funding source for the lawyers to go after you and me. I suspect this will happen soon:
