Marlin 39a spring question

I am installing a Brownell's reduced power spring kit in a Marlin 39a.

Where does the smaller spring go?

It says right in the Brownell's link you posted.

Light, lever latch spring reduces latch pressure and friction for fast, easy cycling and quick follow-up shots.

So, it goes in behind the lever latch plunger in the lever on the centerfire 1895, 1894, & 336.

But I don't think the 39A has a lever latch plunger?
So you probably don't use it.
