"...write you a check for $600..." At the very least. He's also left himself open for assault charges. Anybody else see this happen?

While I am not an advocate for using tools for something other than what they were designed for....

My response would probably to have waited silently till he was off guard and seen if I could pistol whip a chump before he could react.

You should make him pay for either new gun or new sights (your choice)

if he refuses, then seriously file in small claims court. Atleast here, I think its about $50 to file, so just the sights aren't worth it, if you go to small claims, you have to go for gun replacement.

Take the gun to a gunsmith and have it checked thoroughly and documented(documentation is very important). Then present the idiot with a bill. Lastly, find a new friend.

The sights I can understand maybe sustaining some slight damage, but a huamn kick is breaking the indestructable Glock?  :D :p :p

Sorry, had to.;)

I take it was like falling out of an airplane... it wasn't the fall, but the sudden stop at the end that did the deed :)

Probably smacked the wall and floor pretty hard.

Should have smacked the "martial artist" in the noggin pretty hard.

I'd thought private gun ownership was forbidden in Jamica. How did you manage this. I find it a tad hard to believe that dropping a gun bends the slide unless you are on Jupiter with its level of gravity.

If this is true, he needs to buy you a new gun. The apple test with a shotgun is funny. I've done similar things in a hostage rescue drill.

as far as martial arts, this guy sometimes gets carried away as he is usually trying to prove a 'point'. In fact he has been involved in a number of altercations.
Somes like a class A ????head. I'm sure none were his fault, he was only defending himself. Thank god he was a martial artist! :uhoh:

Just like my cousin, trouble always seems to 'find' him.

I guess it does if you go looking for it.

Martial artist my ****. The guy is a jerk, pure and simple. You use plastic training props for training and not some dude's real gun. Jerk.

Looks like he just made a gun purchase.

I've got some quirky friends... but this? Tell him that he either buys the gun from you, or you are going to test his speed with live ammo.

Pistol-whip your "friend" until your sights are straightened out or the kick him in the nads solution. Other or it is still a BS thing the guy did.

if he refuses, then seriously file in small claims court. Atleast here, I think its about $50 to file, so just the sights aren't worth it, if you go to small claims, you have to go for gun replacement.

Legal advice: Consult your own attorney. There is no attorney-client relationship established with anyone by this post.

My experience: Loser defendants in small claims alway pay the winner plaintiff's COSTS, like that $50 filing fee. Court is the forum of last resort, but it *can* be useful!

Once he buys your new gun, cut all ties.

If you hang out with him long enough, he'll eventually pick a fight he can't handle--while he's with you--and expect you to bail him out. Screw him.

I've studied Martial arts. I can't believe this dumb ass didn't stop to think "What if it had been loaded." I hope he thanked you for your gun safety and offered to pay for any damages. Thank God you have your faithful Beretta on hand and do more than "distance" yourself. Dump his sorry ass, and find a real friend - who knows how to keep his hands off of other people's property if he can't respect it.

Wow, that was a real great test, considering that he was going against a non-assailant, had declared his intentions and LIED, and wasn't using an inert weapon.

Go forth and kick his incredibly dumb ass.

Hi.. I just checked in and saw that this post was still going..great!!

To clarify damage was done to the top right side of the sight, not to the gun.

To date I have still not decided what sight to get for the pistol and I am only now using the original factory sights. I have considered Heinies, Novaks, XS, MMC, Hi Viz etc. I just can't decide..
