I've seen many posts referring to very inconstant throws from Lee's adjustable auto disc, using light charge weights for pistol. Recently loading 45 acp, using Titegroup, under 200gn LSWC, I was having the same issue when starting at 4.8gns. The auto disc was throwing everything from 5.3 to squibs. To make sure everything is apples to apples, This is using the newest update kit, with the red hopper that twists to shut off powder flow and mounts with thumb screws for quick removal. I noticed with the set up that the oblong shape of the adjustable disc, sits mostly to the front of the powder through tube and subsequently sits primarily to one edge of the opening of the sweeper gasket on the bottom of the hopper. This was causing a less than consistent fill into the disc. With the way the hole in the bottom of the hopper is offset, I was able to turn the hopper around an have the hole in the bottom of the hopper centered over the adjustable disc evenly resulting in very consistent throws. This would not work with larger charge weights but works great with the lighter ones.
I don't know if this is design purpose of the offset as the only directions I've found are on how to replace the parts with the new ones, but if it is in print somewhere I'll gladly wipe the egg from my face. Hope this is helpful.

I had the same experience. The disk has slots that allow installation two ways. One way with an offset at the mouth of the hopper and the other with the mouth lined up centered over the hole in the disk. I missed this during setup, but now I know that the disk hole must be lined up with the hopper. Mine has been very consistent with 3.5 - 4.0 charges of Red Dot and Bullseye. Good post. Wish I would have known this during setup.

What you say is exactly why the PAD and ACB will or will not throw consistent charges. The hole in the charge bar HAS to be directly under the hole in the hopper. It also has to be directly over the hole in the powder thru die when the ram is at the top of its stroke. The latter is adjusted by screwing the die into or out of the turret.
Do you know if you had it backward to begin with? There is a front and back to the hopper.

I haven't had the issue with the auto disc, just the adjustable auto disc. When set to smaller volumes, the leading edge of the AAD lines up with the leadin edge of the wiper gasket. This has the moving part of the auto disc partially blockin the opening in the bottom of the hopper. When you turn the hopper around to where u can not see down the powder through die, the hole in the hopper is then evenly centered over the cavity in the AAD rather than toward one edge. That isn't an issue with larger volume setting but is with the small ones. Hope that clears it up.
