Ok guys and gals,

Many of us here at THR take time to thank Vets and think of prices paid
and lives given for freedom on this weekend.

May I suggest a more active role? Adopt a Soldier, Marine, or Airman and thier family. Its easy to do we all know or have a co-worker that knows a
deployed servicemember or their family.

Make contact and help them out. On another forum the young newly wed wife of a Marine was upset because the diamond fell out of her wedding ring.
It was a symbol of her connection to her husband.

A forum member set her up with a Jewler he knew and got her ring fixed. Simple huh? How do you think that made her feel?

Send a goodie box to Iraq. Find a stateside family and mow thier lawn, change the oil on the car! Baby sit, take them to dinner. Make Contac, be a friend.

What I am asking is TAKE IT PERSONALLY. There has not been a attack on American soil since 9/11 because these service members are taking the fight to THEM!

What else can you possibly do today more important than this? THR could take a nation wide LEAD in this. How would that make gun owners look?

Imagine the head lines...... 10,000 gun owners band together and stand vigil over the familys of deployed servicemembers. Finaly a "standing vigil" event that served a purpose.

That is a fantastic idea. :)

I actually tend to do just that, but more than just once a year... my neighbor (and my father, actually) is a vet, and I like helping him out.
