"We don't need the military on the border. Unless we are going to invade Mexico or repel a real invasion by Mexico"

I'm sorry, if this story is true, and the jury still seems to be out on that, what else would you call the act of foreign troops entering our country and abducting US citizens? An invasion . BTW, this isn't the first instance of this type.

Now now. I'm sure these good folks who are being kidnaped just forgot to call 9-1-1.

Sounds like the mexicans could be testing the water so to speak. I can't imagine living in that region without being armed to the teeth and not asking a terrible lot of questions.

Let's remember one thing: it's NewsMax
NewsMax has every bit the journalistic credibility with me as does the New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and Boston Globe. If it is acceptable to engage in uninformed speculation based on stories reported in these organs, it is perfectly acceptable to do so with a story reported in NewsMax.

There are no perfect news sources. They all have warts, blindspots, and prejudices.

Bring it on

I wonder if we layed an ambush for these mexican if we would get brought up on murder chargers. Maybe we could tell the gun grabbers that we were excersising our 2A rights by participating in an armed militia. Since they don't believe we have an individual right to keep and bear arms I am sure they would be thrilled we are bearing arms in a militia. I think we could take out a convo of drug running mexican army folks with 20-30 good THR members.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the people in question were moving drugs, and somehow pissed off their supplier.

Sounds like we could go down to the border and start some gunbattles for spring brake :D

FWIW, Mexican citizens(term used loosely) routinely take pot-shots at campers/tourists across the border at the Rio Grande river in Big Bend State Park in Texas. Ask any Park Ranger there. They will tell you. It was one of the first things I was told to look out for while there for a visit two summers ago.

Anyone down in that region should be armed well in case of something like this happening to them. I would suggest an AK-47 and several pre-ban magazines. We armed Americans need to teach these SOBs that they CAN NOT come on to our soil like this without meeting a hail of bullets!

Hello all, I'm a newbie. This news got me EXTREMELY mad. I am normally calm, and reserved. But this is an outrage. It almost makes me want to go down there and shoot every damn person I see crossing the border. It makes Class III seem worth the price. I swear to God, if I EVER see any foreign soldier on my nation's soil, without consent from my government, I will NOT hesitate to open fire. This, if it is true, is past unacceptable. If, by some spontaneous event, I am moving there, expect no less than a new gun each week. I would invest in .50 BMGs to take out those bastards HUMMV's. I don't exactly think this is entirely true, but if it is, they will get what is coming to them.
Sorry for the heat, but this makes me VERY unhappy. I am as American as apple pie.

Again, hi to everyone :)

Whats getting me really upset about this story is that nobody else is reporting on it. Is this because the story is untrue or are we witnessing a media blackout? :fire:

Welcome [SA].

We don't need the military on the border.

That's fine for you REMF's but it's different here on the border. The Mexicans have no qualms about fortifying the border with their military but you figure the Border Patrol, a glorified immigration police force, is a suitable counterforce?

I place little value in your opinion.

I can't fathom how this kinda thing is allowed to go unnoticed and unpunished. But I've never lived there, and maybe that makes a difference.

All you folks who have been there and do understand how things work, mebbe you can help me out here:

Let's say you live in America, very near the border. Now, you've heard that your neighbor was hauled off to Mexico by armed Mexican soldiers, and you've prepared yourself accordingly. One day, as you are peacably minding your own business, your worst fears are realized. Along comes a convoy of armed Mexican soldiers, making directly for your home. Not wanting to end up like your neighbor, you open fire on them with your <insert scary black rifle here>. The Mexicans are caught by surprise, and retreat back to Mexico after suffering a few casualties. You survive unhurt, but there are now several dead Mexican soldiers in your front yard.

What happens now???
Do you call up the Feds ans say, "Excuse me, Agent Smith, but I seem to have just defeated a Mexican invasion. Thought you should know..."
Do you end up arrested and charged with murder?
Do you end up arrested and charged with murder in Mexico?
Does the Army award you a Bronze Star?
Does the American media finally take notice?
Does the American government finally take notice?

Or do you just bury the bodies and go on about your life?

Inquiring minds would like to know...

After having read the whole article, we definitley need troops on the southern border. We need squads ready at a moment's notice for this sort of thing.

Please dont flame me for that when I know perfectly well what evil can be done to US citizens with 'squads ready to go' around under the wrong commander/citizen leader.

Headless brings up a good point here. Make no mistake, as many of those invaders would be dead as possible. But what would occur next?

Thanks for the welcome NIGHTWATCH.

Since I live about 30 miles from the border in Southeastern Arizona I've followed this thread with interest.

Do Mexican military units sometimes cross the border in remote areas? Sure they do and sometimes they will enter and "look around" some of the small villages and towns. Have they kidnaped people? Not to my knowledge. Most of these towns are very small and inhabited by people of Mexican extraction. That may be part of the reason such events remain local news. Sometimes our government sends some kind of diplomatic protest, but that's it.

Is there shooting? Sure. It seems that they all like to take pot-shots at our Border Patrol people and on occasion some of them have been hit. While I can't say for sure I think most of those shots come from smugglers - people or drugs, and sometimes both.

Those of you who live "inland" have no idea what goes on, and you aren't going to find out from your TV or newspaper. They don't have any reporters in the area, and frankly they don't care. As for the government, they won't do much unless someone is kidnapped, seriously wounded or killed, or the visitors start looting.

It has been this way forever, and will probably continue to be so. Are the folks who live along the border armed? For the most part, to the teeth. This is not a good place for a candidate to run on an anti-gun/gun control platform.

Put a moratorium on all gun control legislation in the area within 50 miles of the border. I wonder how many "border incursions" we would be seeing if Mexican mercenaries knew that they would be confronting victims every bit as well armed as they are, perhaps even better armed.

I just love to read really tough guy talk like is posted here. Let's see. First we are all mad because we have been invaded by a foreign country, AGAIN! Next, we are mad because nobody in our government cares and nobody in the government will do anything about it. Then there is the tough talk about how we would not let this go on to us an individuals.

For the life of me, no matter how much indignation I read about this alledged event, no matter how much folks think Mexico has committed an act of war or done something terrible to fellow US citizens, no matter how mad that makes us, I don't read about any single one of you, much less a group, actually going down there to protect our country. Instead, all of y'all, like me, are sitting at the computer and thinking, "Well, I don't live on the border!"

Yep, the government never gets it right and there is no way in hell any of us are going to take up the slack and help out our fellow Americans against minor foreign invasions. I know, I know, we all have our excuses. I have to work. I have a bad back. My gun is in the shop.

It isn't as if our government isn't busy fight war in one country, holding another, patrolling all over the friggin' globe, but we don't seem all that willing to chip in and help protect ourselves from this alledged threat.

I have to admit, everytime I read these things and see how many folks are so quick to complain and so slow to go into action, I feel a little disgraced.

Headless,

I have lived here my whole life and have no clue what would be the smart thing to do if you had a bunch of dead Mexicans in the front yard. I don't live anywhere near the border so I can comment what would happen down there. If it was me I would rent a back hoe and start digging.

I still think we should get a bunch of THR members together and setup an ambush for those damn Drug running Mexican military guys. I bet we could take one convo with only 20 of us. I can't imagine they would charge us with murder all we would have to do is claim that we were actiing in self defense of our country. Before the ambush we could send a note to one of the base commanders in Mexico warning him to keep his soldiers on thier side of the border or face armed action. That way we could say he was warned and if they still attempt to come into our country they would be getting what they deserve.

Double... Are you going down there? I didn't think so.

Please, don't comment negatively about people not taking action, when you yourself do the exact same.

Night all.

Double Naught

In response to your question: The US Govt. is charged with defending the border and enforcing immigration law----

Article I
Section 8
Clause 15: To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;

Clause 16: To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;

SInce we have been stripped of our right to arm ourselves effectively, we may need some assistance is producing MBRs and SAWs, mortars and claymores, grenades and rockets, etc.

THEIR primary job is defense and security. That do not give a rat's a$$. Provide the necessary support and I will be there:D

Top 10 Ways to deal with the bodies of foreign invaders in your yard.

1. Shoot, shovel, shut-up

2. Haul bodies to your local congressmans office, deposit at front door.

3. Send them to Valhalla on a bonfire!

4. Have your buddy Cooter stuff and mount them and then use them in historical battle recreations.

5. Swerving quickly back onto the High Road...

What's the deal, Double Naught Spy?? You think that it's normal or appropriate for a foreign government to send soldiers into America to nab our citizens?

I think our government should be doing spomething about this. Maybe I'm a little behind the times here, but I thought the whole purpose of our military was to protect us from foreign aggressors. (Or maybe you think this wasn't a case of aggresion by foreigners? )

I don't live on the border, so this ain't gonna happen to me. But if, somehow, a squad of Mexican soldiers made it all the way to Indiana and threatened my family, then you can be certain I'll do everything I can to fight back. Maybe it wouldn't be enough. Maybe my family would still get hauled off to that foreign country, to receive God knows what sort of (mis)treatment. I do know that I'll be dead before I let that happen. There's nothing "tough guy" about that. It's a matter of common sense, and of love for your family.

Chastise me all you want for not grabbing my rifles and hopping the next flight to Texas. I won't be manning a foxhole on the Rio Grande anytime soon. Again, and maybe I'm wrong here, but I thought that one of the basic purposes of a national defense was to relieve the average citizens from precisely that job.

What do you propose we do about this, Double Naught Spy? Or should we just ignore the problem since most of us don't live on the border?
