I'm looking to get aquainted with long range shooting and F-Class appears to be a logical place to learn & compete.

I live in NW Indiana, have 100 yd range close and 200 meter range an hour away.

https://www.bassandbucks.com/ located in Wabash, Indiana (2 hours away) is on my list of places to visit. I will inquire about their programs.

Young's Long Shot Range Young's Longshot, 2 1/2 hour ride also on in my list.

Illinois, Indiana & Michigan; Who hosts F-Class? These areas are a day trip away.

I’m about 3 years ahead of where you are. Once I was into it my kids wanted to go too. We are all enjoying it. As a matter of fact we are shooting a match this weekend

Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll try and help

https://lacrosserifleclub.com/ Not sure how far you are from LaCrosse WI, but they host F-class and mid-range. http://winnequahgunclub.org/ https://www.google.com/search?q=eau...0j69i57j0l6.8303j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 http://www.northstarrifleclub.org/

The WIs and one MN club (located SE of the Twin Cities metro) all offer open-to-public mid range/F-class and NRA/CMP high power matches on full 600 yard courses. They all have onsite camping available for competitors/family, and are in quite wild and scenic areas so make good family outings for a weekend.

I would, however, suggest that if you are starting from scratch in learning longer range shooting that you consider NRA/CMP high power with a service rifle instead. A box stock RRA National match A4 with a 4x Leupold mark AR (Or A2 with NM iron sights if you prefer), a GI Web sling, and a shooting mat would be all you need to have a solid gear package right off the bat. If you just want to dabble, it can be done with a lesser AR or M1 Garand. You'll find F-class to be much more centered on very expensive gear.

I shot next to some guys from Purdue at Camp Perry and their home range is located near Lafayette. If I recall, they said it went out to 500 yards. I'd check and see if they have a mid-range F-class program.

ETA: I think that this is the place.

I see that they have a prone match in their hipower program. They only have 300 yds, and must use reduced targets. At least its something.
