So I attempted to try 2 new to me rifles yesterday and they weren't striking the primers. They are an 1895 Chilean Mauser in 7x57 and a last ditch Type 99 Arisaka. Getting home and learning to disassemble the bolts the firing pins are indeed broken at the tips.
Numrich has a new replacement pins for the Type 99 which requires final fitment. I'm assuming final fitment means filing down the tip to the correct protrusion?
Now the 1895 is harder to get info for. It does seem a lot of the South American rifles use the same firing pin according to Numrich. But I can not locate a replacement yet is there somewhere that can fix the tip or does anyone know who sells used pins or new pins for a good price?
