I am envious of all of the beautiful rifles.I am so sorry that my father and I sporterized our DCM 03A3's back in the 60s after we paid the huge price of $15 each. Hindsight is always 20/20.

Just got a new one! This is a Chatellerault MLE 1892 MAC 1935 French Lebel cavalry carbine. It is chambered in 8X57R Lebel(8mm Lebel). Very short and weighs 7 pounds.

Hello friends and neighbors // Nice snag/save on the Lebel.

Bought my Hungarian Mosin because it has similar "spalted" wood, looks better to me at least, well done.

Just wondering about the bent bolt, is it set up for a scope? Or I guess because it is Calvary issue.

No that is just the way the 1892 cavalry carbines were.

Anybody know how much it is worth? I paid $100 at an auction Monday night for it.

My camera is on the fritz. But I have 12 Mosin Nagants, one Winchester 95 chambered in 7.65X54R for the Russians in WW I, 4 Mausers, ! K98, 2 M48's, and a M48-A, 3 Steyrs, an Austrian, a Hungarian, and a Bulgarian contract. Two M1 Garands, an SA and an HR. A Type 99 Japanese Arisaka, 3 Swiss, a 96/11, K11, and K31. 2 Lee Enfields, a N0.4 Mk.1 and a No.5 jungle carbine. An M98 Nagant revolver, a CZ82, and a Romanian Tokarev.

Just traded a Walther P-1 pistol away.

Vegas--how did you get a scope mount on an M91?

theres a dove tail rail under the rear right, It can be a pain to take off. i needed a blow torch for mine.

I don't have any stand alone pictures of my Milsurps, only a Man Cave picture. The first is an older one, but it shows more detail of the guns...


...the second is a more recent photo, but doesn't show the guns well, and is pretty washed out.

Thanks, I appreciate the kind comments. I had a partially finished, unused room in my basement, and a bunch of collections boxed in closets. I figured I'd combine them and get some enjoyment out of them. I have a men's Bible study that meets in my house each week, and the "Man Cave" is a nice "masculine" setting for it, even if it freaks out a newbie every now and then (especially when they come in and catch us detail stripping a Glock or some other firearm minutes before the study begins.

Other collections in the room are fossils, Civil War artifacts, Native American artifacts, WWII newpapers framed on all the walls, pocket knives, old hunting supplies, archaeology equipment, etc. The room has a living room furniture setting area, and a kitchenette with microwave, fridge, table and chairs. It's put together almost entirely from items I had stored, that weren't being used. It may not be pretty, but it's mine, and my wife had objections to me displaying all of my junk in her living room. Go figure ;-)
