Well lets see if my photo transfer from my other computer was a success, IF so I'll put up some more photos of my collection.
Well I keep forgetting that once you post a photo anywhere on this board that you can not repost it anywhere else on this board! Thus you'll have to go elsewhere to see photos of my German stuff And some of my ruskie stuff. REALLY STUPID SYSTEM!!!!!
Here is what ruskie gunz I hadn't put up elsewhere. Also my Brit FAs.

Well, I was going to post photos of my meager poor boy collection, but looking through here has changed my mind. Looking at y'alls treasures is humbling to us of modest means.....

Don't be disheartened at all! Be proud of what you have and keep adding to it as you are able.
I'm sure there are many like me, I started collecting in 1953 and have never stopped!
I have thus had a very many year head start on most on here or any other gun board that I frequent.

So BUY one! Bleeding a little won't hurt you!
Where in Colorado? If not to far away you can get with me and shoot mine.

Great collection! Really like the Bren and Stens, and the mortars too! From what I can see we do have at least one gun in common: the Hungarian SA-85M.

Since the Bren seems popular......

This is himself back in the 1990's firing friend's BREN off the tailgate of friend's Jeep Cherokee. Not the most stable of stands, but look at that slime of mud on the ground. Nasty day that. He had a tripod, but we determined it was not worth the cleaning it would need to set up in that muck.

I enjoyed shooting it......after he turned the gas regulator down so it was not tossing my reloadable .303 into the tail gate hard enough to crush the mouths. The BREN ejects straight down and on soft ground just makes a small pile until cases start bouncing off other cases.

When I trained with some Brits of the REME type in 1974 they still had 7.62 NATO BREN guns.

Friend is a manufacturer and that gun is one of his post '86 dealer samples.

Same day. Different gun.

1918A2 BAR. I sometimes get tired of folks saying what one can or can not do, so I do things.

The target was clay pigeons at 25 yards and I am nailing them with single shots from that pictured stand. At the low rate it is very easy to shoot single shots from the BAR. At the high rate you sometimes get doubles, but not near as much spread between shots as some folks would tell you.......if you happen to have been an M60 gunner at one point.....and wear extra large long BDUs.

Had a ball that day demonstrating to friends the stand, under arm and "hip" assault position.

Please no BAR vs BREN arguments. Apples and oranges.

If you have to know I liked the BAR better as a squad automatic weapon.

Meanwhile back in the 1970's......

This is technically a Police Surplus gun, but they were used by the Military of the US and UK.

Bill had a repro of a Thompson pamphlet that showed this as a recommended position for firing for police. We had to try it as a result. Not near as good as shouldering the gun and even just pointing, never mind aiming. Shots did go in the right general direction and were actually well controlled and there was little "climb" in this position. Worked best with the 50 round drum, likely because of the weight.

BTW from a good prone position with the selector on semi and the Lyman peep sight deployed, paint cans at 150 meters never stood a chance.

On a more sedate and more recent look.

My ugliest Mil Surp rifle......which I happen to actually like.

MAS 1936 7.5x54 French. It has no safety. The bayonet looks well suited for picking up trash with.

When clean ammo can be found it shoots well. Four second hang fires on some ammo is a challenge.

I actually shot it in a Mil Surp pre 1945 match in our little club and came in second in a field of 16. The winner I argued should not have gotten the little trophy as he was shooting an M-1A but that is small club rules committees for you.

What's wrong with apples & oranges? I own both and compare them regularily. The Bren is so much more fun to shoot!!!
Here is a local gathering of the clan some years ago. You'll notice that we fielded a good variety of FAs.
Also here is one of my BARs. Well I guess not since I have posted it elsewhere on this forum - Really stupid that a photo can not be posted in more than one place here!!! Changing the name of the photo doesn't work either!

Sarge,

Nice stuff and nice "range".

The UZI fooled me for a moment with that suppressor or whatever. I immediately thought of how useless I found the MAC-10 before using a barrel extension or suppressor.

Sarge - is that a Kriegsmarine Officers cap being worn by a guy in one of your photos? If so, definitely a nice touch for a range day on a wide-open prairie in the USA.

I find the MAC 10 (mine is 9mm) to be awkward using only the strap, but a pleasure to shoot with either the bbl extension (looks like a piece of 50 cal bbl jacket) or a suppressor.

Yep, that was Dwight. He was a Km U-Boot nut. The hat is an original.
Lost him in a car wreck over 10 yrs ago.
