Aside from my M1s, this surplus 30.06 is my favorite.
It's a low-numbered (302XXXX) Remington 1903 and was one of the early Lend-Lease 1903s rushed over to the Brits early in WW2 for use by their Home Guard troops. Note the infamous red stripe the Brits smeared over the stock and upper handguard so as to visual distinguish it from a .303-chambered rifle that a panicked soldier might grab and attempt to load in a hurry. All parts are original, and the barrel, while having exterior wear, dings and dents, has a pristine bore and crown.
It's been a great shooter. I've used it at the Nat'l Matches and in Vintage Mil Rifle shoots at the local club.
