Contact your reps today to make sure this bill gets struck down

State Representatives Rory Ellinger (D-86) and Jill Schupp (D-88) introduced House Bill 545
HB 545 would ban the possession, sale, transfer or manufacture of certain semi-automatic rifles and magazines that are capable of holding more than ten rounds.

HB 545 contains no grandfather clauses. Therefore, under HB 545, if you are currently in possession of the semi-automatic rifles and magazines outlined in this bill, you will have 90 days from the effective date of this legislation to surrender, destroy or remove these currently lawful items from Missouri. If you fail to do so, you could be charged with a Class C felony if this legislation is passed and enacted into law.

Rich people trying to "make a difference" . . . . not even aware of all the facts. I doubt it would pass.

Not gonna happen in Missouri. Just make sure you let your voice be heard and specifically let those 2 who are introducing it know that if they continue in their traitorous and anti-constitutional ways that they can kiss their lush lavish lives away and you will do everything within your power to make sure they never hold any office again.

Idle

Do NOT remain idle State of Missouri. Let them know your thoughts on the issue. Look at the once "Gun Friendly" State of Colorado ! ! ! We don't need the liberal sneak attack. Conservative Supermajority is NOTHING without a voice of The People.

don't know if it was already mentioned or not anywhere else but there is also HB187 Universal Backround checks

Even if you are certain the bill won't pass let them know how you feel anyway! The second you become complacent is when you get sucker punched. Show the legislators weather they be local, state or federal your passion and show them you are watching their every move!

...people trying to "make a difference" . . . . not even aware of all the facts.
They are well aware of the facts. The facts don't matter here. This isn't about public safety or saving lives. This is simply their opportunity to disarm the populace. The only difference they want to make is the criminalization of actions in the citizenry that will remain legal in the government.

Sad, very sad.
I hope it goes nowhere.

OTOH, I think these "extreme" proposals may backfire, and help expose the true agenda and "final solution" that the gun grabbers really want: to make criminals of law abiding citizens, and to confiscate all firearms. For a generation, whenever "gun control" would become a hot button issue, those of us who would warn that "reasonable" restrictions were just a pretext for eventual confiscation were ignored, or thought paranoid. Well, now the liberal/left is showing its true colors and throwing caution to the wind. Good. I want the middle of the roaders to see the liberal/left for what it really is: a threat to liberty bordering on treason.

so what do the rest of us do ? watch as it happens to YOU. and wait for them to move on to the next state. thats EXACTLY what a few hundred who are pushing this agenda hope will happen. NOTHING ! and they will have pulled another fast one just like hitler , mussolini , and stalin. OR do we all stand up like the ancestors and say"come and get 'em".
the time for US to band together is upon us. the first one of us arrested under any garbage like this should be followed by the storming of the jail for a release just like the french also did on bastille day.

I'd like to see this sort of nonsense pass in Kentucky. That being said... MO residents have my sympathies.

Sent a letter to my representatives and the governor. I'm not too worried about the AWB passing in MO. However, the UBC scares me. It sounds like something as simple as leaving a firearm in a family member's car could be seen as an illegal transfer.

Let's hope MidWay and Bass Pro and the good people of Missouri send these "legislators" back to under the rock from which they crawled.

MO residents have my sympathies

Thanks, but not needed. Just a couple of St. Louis area dems fishing.

I have a better chance of walking out of the store with a winning lottery ticket and being struck by lighting than this bill going anywhere.

All the gun grabbing seems to be coming from states with demorat governors. CA, IL, MO, CO, etc. We must all stay alert regarding legislation involving firearms in our states and take nothing for granted. To do so will invite dire consequences.

As many previous posters have mentioned, this is BS posturing by a few reps from a (high crime-rate) metro area of the state merely attempting to make a name for themselves. With vigilance by citizens of the state, 545 will never come to committee, much less be discussed.

Additionally, I urge fellow board members to research their own state's CCW laws as MO House Bill 545 is an amendment to MO Statute 571, one of the statues regarding CCW in the state (the other being 563, respectively). These are the backdoor tactics being employed by 2A opponents. Now that they have showed their hand, we can more effectively fight these half-wits.

I am a former infantry Marine and OIF vet. My livelihood now is that of a student, CCW and rifle instructor, and I work at JSE Surplus. This bill would have immense consequences for many like myself and completely stunt the AR community for years as well as being a major defeat in regards to 2A and individual rights. This is not the country I swore to protect as a younger man, and I'll be damned I silently stand on the sidelines and let the misguided public servants dictate my life or rights. I can only hope that like-minded individuals take the same stand.

Look at the once "Gun Friendly" State of Colorado

I'm not telling anyone to not contact their reps. I think it is always good to make them aware of where their constituents stand and to stay vigilant in defending one's rights. That said CO got where it is by having lots of Democrats move in, often states they had already ruined and mismanaged and in turn electing more and more Democrats who now are pushing anti gun laws. I know some think it should be taboo to mention the party that is always behind this stuff, but that is pretty much exactly what went down in CO. It is only no longer so gun friendly because of an increase in democratic voters and thus office holders.

Let them know they will be punished at the polls and then do it. Even if it is not your voting district, anyone can campaign against them. We need to send a message that anyone that tries to infringe on liberty, will be punished. Attempted robery/rape/murder are crimes even if the attempt is failed from the beginning. Do not let attempted treason/tyranny off the hook easy.
