Moore-N-Moore Fun Shoot, Woo Hoo I Won "A" Class !!
Moore-N-Moore Sporting Clays in San Fernando, CA. holds their monthly Fun Shoot on the third Sunday of the month. And this month was no different, well a little different.
I WON “A†CLASS, I WON “A†CLASS, I WON “A†CLASS
Pat Moore always throws a great Fun Shoot. 100 challenging but breakable targets, really friendly people and a GREAT lunch. This month we shot 10 targets from 10 stations. 2 singles, 2 report pairs and 2 true pairs.
I thought I did pretty well. After lunch they made an announcement that John Brower and Brad Glustoff were in a shoot off for 1st place in “A†class. Brad Glustoff? Wait a second, that’s me. I never win anything, let alone “A†class.
I asked what I needed to do and was told to report to station 1, ready to shoot. Station 1 was my worst station of the tournament and I was nervous. On the way up to station 1, somebody asked me how I did the first time around. I figured I would “psyche out†my competition and I replied “I ran itâ€, (I really shot a 5 there).
The shoot-off format was a report pair and then 2 true pair. John shot first. On his report pair, he hammered the first target and lowered his gun. I thought he was going to lose the second target, but he recovered, raised his gun and hammered that one too. On his next 2 true pair he shot 1 each, giving him a total of 4.
Now it was my turn and I was nervous. I was shaking like a hooker in church (and I’ve never been in a church). I got both of the targets on my report pair and 1 each of the 2 true pair, giving me a 4 also.
Now it was John’s turn again. We were going to shoot true pairs until one of us won. John shot his pair and got 1 of them. As I stepped into the shooting box, I was strangely calm. I knew what I had to do, but could I do it?
At this point I would ask you, what’s the difference between Me and Mama Cass?
I DIDN’T CHOKE; I DIDN'T CHOKE; I broke both of my targets and won “A†class. WOO HOO
All in all, Moore-N-Moore is a great place to shoot. If you’re in the L.A. area, you should be shooting this. The next monthly NSCA Shoot is Sunday, October 26, 2003 and the next Monthly Fun Shoot is Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003
