What do you guys think about these, I ordered 2 a carbon and a stainless. To see how I liked them. They're really pretty decent. I think.

I'm thinking of getting a dozen of them and leaving them all over the place!

A highly underrated knife by folks who 'don't know'. I have several, including a 50's model I picked up at a garage sale. For an underrated folder take a look at Opinel, the K55K 'Kat' knife or the Douk Douk. Pretty amazing how something so inexpensive (not cheap) can work so well.

Yeah, I've been on a real "what can I do it for less with?" kick lately. Got an opi in my pocket.
went and looked at a kat knife. I won one of those on the dragline at the Fair when I was a Kid! I didnt know thats what it was.

Everybody should own a few moras. I keep them in the boat, glovebox, backpack, hunting pack, and one in the barn- its always stuck in a beam right next to where I cut the twine from hay bales and open feed bags. I also keep one in my greenhouse "kit" (which is actually a poly silverware rack from a defunct dishwasher - doing more with less).

I carry several, and they are the only hunting knives that I own. I rework the grip as I do historic based stuff, and the round red grips don't work aesthetically, but the blades are super good. Can't beat the price.

I believe the carbon ones are still laminated steel. A real hard core and a softer outside. When they do the grind it exposes a little bit of the hard core that is the cutting edge and it really takes and holds an edge well. The stainless ones are very good also, though they do loose their edge a little faster. Handles looks utilitarian but they do make kits and you can get just the blades for making your own handles out of antler, whatever. Mora is just a town in Sweden, like Solingen of Germany, that was the center of knife making in Sweden. Frosts (not to be confused with Frost), Morakniven and Erikkson are major manufaturers there. Check out http://www.ragweedforge.com/.

The "Sandvik" steel in the carbon Moras is awesome.

I did one custom-grip for a Mora blade i bought.
(Should be doing more .. but no time on my hands.)

They are fugly the way they come. But they are tools.

Spreading a dozen around the space is a good idea.
(Spreading bandaids is too)

bandaids!...that isnt what I read the first time, what I read is really funny,
but that draws a warning around here. so i'll just have to keep it to myself. rhymes with...means tavern hostess. Sometimes Bifocals are fun.

Good knives and they'll take and hold one hell of an edge, but the sheath that comes with them suck. But they're well worth the small price you pay for them.

I don't mind the sheath that came with mine. It's easy to take on and off, it has drainage, and I generally dig it. Retention is sort of iffy, I guess, but by the same token, I have never lost one either.

That's just my opinion, though. Certainly there are tons of people that aren't love with that sheath, I just don't happen to be one of them.

Just got in my new Mora #2. Glad I got one finally.

First impressions, great blade, lousy finish for the "guard", and I like the round handle. The sheath even is ok, with all the reviews I thought it would be horrible, but I actually like the sheath for neck carry.

You can't go wrong with a Mora for the money IMO my favorite right now is the 711 craftline allround in 1095 carbon steel it resides in my truck as a backup.

I used to think they were junk, just intended to be cheap, but after using them, I really like them.

I have two strapped to my Maxpedition B.O.B. One stainless and one carbon. The sheaths for the purpose work well. One would go to the belt in actual use scenario but for S&G mounted on the bag they are outstanding.

The Bag.

Very secure location. This bag is designed to move from back to front in a few seconds.

Good value for the $$.
