I have been married 32 years. My wife gets something of equal value when I get a gun.It works.

BryanP, what unit were you in in Nam? 3/8INF,4th INF DIV 68-69

Been married almost 25 yrs when I was single lived on board ship in the Navy. Way too much hassle owning a gun. All my purchases have been in the last 13 yrs since I left ac tive duty, and most have been in the last 7 yrs.

I could afford a gun safe after I was married, and my brother-in-law is a gun fanatic also. An extra income really freed up my "fun money", also gun shows were viewed as "male bonding" between me and her brother. I quickly began trying to fill up the empty spaces in my safe, and sadly to say it's almost done.:( The two little things that slowed me way down (nearly stopped now) were our little girls :) Now I'll use the excuse that I'm looking for rifles for the girls to shoot:D

I'm currently single, but engaged. One day not too long ago my wife-to-be said, "Honey, I really want you to get a 1911."

:D

Since I didn't shoot before we got married I'm thinkin you can guess the answer...

You could say I made up for lost time in the last few years... And just paid for another on Fri. that I can't even fondle for 7 more days... :(

New Mauser's comin home to mama... :D

The first time I was married, I only had a couple of shotguns that I bought when I was single and were kept at my dad's house. It's a good thing, too, because the crazy wench probably would have killed me. She was nuttier than a fruitcake. When I was single the second time, I bought two handguns. Now that I have been married again, to a sane woman, for three years, I have bought an AR and bought and traded a multitude of pistols. My wife is not gun friendly, but she's not anti either. She has gone to the range with me, but has told me "I just have no interest in guns." I have tried to encourage her without being overbearing, but it's not something she is interested in. Maybe time will change that, but at least she doesn't give me crap when I decide to buy a gun.Although if I bought one instead of paying the power bill, I'm sure she would object, as any sensible person would.

Oh jeez - many - rate wise - more single. I was married for 29 years and had purchased 7 guns during that time. After my wife passed away, I have purchased 6 in 2.5 years, so I am quickly in 2.5 years overtaking the last 29. On a lark, just picked up a SAR-1 the other day.

You guys out there that have wives that understand your hobby, even participate with you, are lucky indeed. My price for a gun while married, besides the gun, was an expensive vacation.
