1. If I have a sourse for metric wood screws, what size screw do I ask for as replacements for the original m91/30 butt plate screws?
I don't want to deal with minimum order fees and high postage charges just to buy a couple of common screws and I would like to use the original length and threads. The interchangeability charts I've found on the net are silent about sizes for this item.
2. Will the front barrel bands of earlier Mosins that screw together work on the 91/30? I think having to remove the front sight to remove the front barrel band is close to idiotic. I have been told it was done to keep them from being lost, but then what keeps the back ones from getting lost?
