They're available in TAKTUHKL!

That is absolutely incongruous, yet it makes sense as a fantasic futuristic serbibble riffle, what with the fact that .30-30 is/should be/might be stocked everywhere that .223/5.56 is.

I'd pass and get a real M94. Too many good used Winchesters out there to settle for the Mossberg IMO.

The safety is better than what Winchesters have. Also, they mount scopes better. My father-in-law has one and it is a good rifle.

My nephew bought his Mossberg 3 years ago. We mounted a Bushnell 1.5 - 4.5X scope and it shoots consistent 2 inch groups at 100 yards. He downed a heavy bodied 6 pointer in Maryland with this outfit. The animal toppled after just a couple jumps. Very good performance!

I can find nothing wrong with this well balanced carbine by Mossberg.

Hoping this is helpful.

Yea, they work, but there are over 14 million used Marlin and Winchester 30-30's out there and an awful lot of them are for sale. You'll get a better rifle for less money going that route.

I have been seeing the MB lever guns at the gun shows as well. Reviewers say they are good to go. However holding it and looking at it is a different story for me. Just feels cheap and has ugly wood on it. I looked at more than one and came away unimpressed. I am sure it will take deer just as well as many others. The gun just did not call to me as something impressive or desirable. Just my thoughts. Should be yours! :)

What Milk said. After owning a M94 Win. for 30 years, I could never be satisfied with a Mossberg 464. Look and feel very cheap by comparison.

and if you shop around, you can find a clean used W94 for not much more. But it's your money and I know what it's like to live on a tight budget, so if it's all you can afford I say go for it.
