Mossberg 500C

Picked up this 500C a few months back, set it up the way I wanted and put it in the cabinet. Today I actually felt like walking to back side of property and humidity level was decent for a change. I keep it loaded with #3 Buck for HD but at the price I just grabbed a box of #7 or 8. I had a cheaper Reflex sight that will display in either Red or Green and using a Bore Laser I more or less sighted it in for about 25 ft. Place I normally shoot has grown up and had to pick a different site, turned on the Reflex in Green and threw up on a small branch about 1 1/2 " in diam and place the dot on it , squeezed trigger and it cut it in half like a chain saw. I had intended to only shoot maybe 5 rds and then call it a day, well after a box I came home. What I like about the Mossberg it fits me just great, recoil with the 20 ga is very mild. This one came with a door breacher barrel and pressure switched flash light, and for what its worth this is one that has found a home for keeps.

I was able to do something similar a week or so ago. I got a used 870 with the extension tube and tried it out. I picked six stubs and branches on the farm area I shoot at and pretended they were intruders. I chose ones nearer and farther in a multiple bad guy scenario. My #9 target load was like the chainsaw you described. I went through 50 rounds and had a ball. I made a few errors in sequence target selection but at that range it's hard to miss what you aim at, which is why we practice. Here's to good times with your Mossy!

Next week doctors are going to try something new on my back and maybe I will be able to actually enjoy the guns I have now. I also picked up a drop dead beautiful O/U Traditions by Fausti (Italian imported) I had the chance to shoot one shell and the put it aside. With Turkey Shoots coming up I am hoping that I can stock the freezer with frozen turkeys. The one round I shot using #8 at 25yrd held a great pattern measuring a 3ft area think I might have a chance, if not I might just pull out this Mossy and watch everyone snicker.
