I purchased this rifle for the grandkids a while back. 25-round magazines were unavailable at the time so it sat in the safe until just recently when I was able to purchase the desired mags.

As most of you are probably aware, this is a plastic replica of an AR15/22 and most "real"
parts are simulated, i.e. non-moving charging handle, almost real picatinny rails and etc. When I purchased it I noticed the butt stock appeared to be non-adjustable which raised no eyebrows since there was a fair amount of simulated plastic on the rifle anyway.

However, once I received the mags and prepped the rifle for use, I noticed the stock was in fact adjustable but the adjustment "lever" had apparently been broken off....I checked the original box and gun safe in case I had inadvertantly broken it but the broken piece was not to be found. I visited Gander Mountain and explained the circumstances and, understandably so, they declined to offer any assistance since the purchase was now several months old.

I then contacted Mossberg Customer Service to 1) see if they would provide a replacement stock or 2) provide me with a part number and price so I could order and purchase a replacement. Mossberg would do neither and requested I send the rifle to them for repairs. Mossberg stated the stock is not sold separately. The replacement of this stock requires the removal of one screw and related nut.....very simple and less than a 5-minute job. I declined their offer although I do think it is poor customer service that replacement parts are unavailable. No matter in this case since I own all of the Mossberg firearms I desire at this time so their decision doesn't affect me.

As it turns out, a regular AR15 adjustable butt stock fits/works perfectly and I had an adjustable Bushmaster stock laying in my parts bin that was put to good use so all turned out well and I actually have a better stock on the 715T than originally equipped and better provisions for a sling.

My reason for posting was to point out a solution to a potential problem if it occurs to your rifle and to point out Mossberg could have kept a customer satisfied by simply providing the availability of a replacement part....the stock in no way affects the safety of the rifle and can easily be replaced, in this case, by aftermarket accessories. All is good now!
