Thought I would pass this on to owners of this rifle as I had to chase the solution down.
The fiber optic insert on the front sight got lost. That little piece of plastic came loose and disappeared.
Checked Mossbergs webpage, no option available to purchase one through it.
Contacted Mossberg customer service. Their only solution is to purchase an entire new front sight.
Part Number: 17659 front sight assembly $12
Did not like that answer, contacted Williams Sights the manufacturer of the sight. They were real helpful and offered to send me a replacement fiber optic rod for free in choice of color under warranty.
They offered to sell me more rods for $5 each/6 inch piece in Red or Green.
The rep also explained how to fit and install the rod into the front sight.
Now if you don't want to go this route, you can buy fiber optic rods in a variety of colors at a lot of places.
The size you need is 0.060.
