Just saw this on one of the big FFL's sites. Google doesn't even take me back to that site, and I can't find anything close to relevant. Anyone have any info?

Thanks

I love the idea behind the MVP, but there are a few things that I wish mossberg would change a little. I really don't like the little penguin flipper dangling off the bottom of the bolt.

That's what allows it to feed from AR mags, and that thing is TINY and held in place by a tiny little pin. I'm sure mossberg did their research and found it sturdy enough but it looks easy enough to break off to me. It also makes (Unless there's a trick that I don't know) putting the bolt back into the receiver a little tricky. I had to line it up and hold the flipper up with my pocket knife to get it back in.

Also the mag wobble on these things makes a bad WASSR look like a bank vault.

I shot a hunting buddy's MVP in .308 a few days ago and if I did not own 3 other .308's I would get one. The rifle printed 2" 3 shot groups with iron sights and older eyes. The recoil seemed soft, good stock fit. I like the overall utility of the setup. I may get my wife one in .223. My wife does not care for autos in general and AR's at all. I do not question her taste ,she picked me.

Gunnerh, if Momma is leaning toward a .223 take a close look at the CZ 527 Carbine. Great little rifle with better fit/finish than the Mossy.

Well this deviated quickly. I guess no one else knows about it either. It is NOT the Patrol version. It's listed on Davidson's without a photo.

The 308 Win version used 2 little tabs on the bolt that pick up the rounds. I don't know why that works for the 308 and not the 223, but I haven't handled either of them.

@swampcrawler, Mossberg calls it a "Drop-Push Bolt" and they only use it on the 5.56 version. They are able to get the bolt low enough into the wider 7.62 magazine. I've never had an issue getting my bolt back in.

If you don't like yours try removing it :neener:

I have the 5.56 version in the Predator style (18" barrel).

Handy little field rifle capable of sub-MOA groups with the right loads.

I thought they were making only four variations in each caliber: Patrol, Varmint, Predator, and "Flex" ( a polymer chassis system with adjustable LOP a la M4).

Have heard nothing about a "SCOUT" version and nothing on the MVP forum about this model.

The short barrel version is very "Scout-like" in term of it's size and ease of handling.

I NEED 3 of them. In .308, .358 Win., and 458 SOCOM. Depending on the barrel attachment, I might be able to make a switch barrel. How is that for dreaming?:what:

Waste of a scope, but at least it's available without it. I saw it on something from SHOT, but forgot to post it in here. Thanks
