Somehow I seem to have gotten a much used Slugster barrel for a Mossberg 500 12 gauge.

I have some thoughts and questions about it you guys may can help with.

First, what choke is the barrel? Now I know most sub 20” riot guns are cylinder and that many folks insist on cylinder for slug use, but this is a 24” rifle sighted barrel. Might this be an improved cylinder or even modified choke? many find such chokes actually make Foster slugs shoot more accurately and predictable.

Anyone know?

Second is the front sight the same and same hight as the Ghost Ring Sight on the 18.5 inch GR guns? I think not but was curious.

I don't know what choke the rifled mossberg barrels are but I have noticed that in my n=1 sample size it is no more accurate with foster slugs than my (n=2) smoothbores using improved cylinder chokes. Also (n=2) improved cylinder>cylinder>modified with fosters in terms of accuracy.

Barrel is smooth bore but has rifle sights.

Rear sight folds down for carry.

Last four inches appear to be choked so I asked.

Not shot it yet

Remington smooth bore slug barrels used to be imp cyl. Don't know about Mossberg but doubt it would be any tighter than that.
I found that my 870 shot the best groups with Foster slugs and the mod barrel.
