Most accurate/reliable rifle?

Sig550/STG90.

But I suspect the Scar 16 and G36 yield smiler levels of reliability.

You have to define how accurate you want. For an infantry rifle a few moa is accurate enough to put bullets in bodies. Target shooters tend to demand a bit more accuracy.

Yeah, not for target shooting accuracy---more along the lines of infantry.

with price no object...

I would have a hard time between the SA58 SPR and the M25 White Feather. Either would do what I would want, I am sure.

with price as a consideration...

AR with a 6.5 Grendel upper and me own personal handloads.

How about a Belgian-Browning BAR? I inherited one in 7mm mag. I don't like to hunt with semi-autos and I don't like 7mm mags. However, if I were to hunt with a semi-auto, this is what I would take. Plenty accurate and I've never experienced any type of reliability issue, even though I've only put about 200 rounds through it (it was NIB when I inherited it).

Of course, I kind of get the feeling that military style semi-autos should be one of the stipulations, because that is all anyone has mentioned thus far.

huh

In this now nearly two year old thread.....opinions abound. For a really accurate answer, a person would literally have to have shot all of the guns in order to have an opinion based on experience.
Otherwise many of us will simply pick the gun that we own (or that we would like to own). That's what I'm doing..
I have had a Colt AR HBar for fifteen years....bone stock still except that I added NM sights right after I got it.
It has never not worked. It is stunningly accurate allowing me to shoot 1/2 MOA groups without the aid of a scope. Other guns may do the same but I haven't used them so I don't really know.

Accuracy?

What does that mean? How do you determine better or worse accuracy without shooting at a target?

m1a / m14

the perfect balance between reliability and accuracy. its like combining an AR with an AK.
