A family hierloom. My Grandfathers Ithica M37 12g.

eta. We have other hierloom firearms also. But the 37 is fully redone.

There are two. One is a M92 Winchester rifle in 38WCF (38-40) and a matching 6" Colt New Service in the same caliber. Both belonged to my Grandfather who was a part time Sheriffs Deputy, and full time cotton farmer, in Quitman County MS.:D

My great grandad's SxS 16 gauge shotgun, but you posted this in Rifles so I'm not sure about those. Have to think on that one. Good question.

Back when I was an FFL, Sam was a good friend and my best customer. The .380 he gave me. The AutoMag I had sold him, I bought from his estate.

Though I've only fired it once, my 1908 Model 1908 is probably the most treasured one I have. It's a family heirloom that goes back to the Panama Canal.

my remington .35 remington pump. it was my dads dream gun he was lucky enough to find one and it was eventually passed down to me.

Mine would definitely be the Colt M1911 that was issued to my great grandfather around 1918, followed by the 1917 Luger p08 that was owned by my Grandfather.

I don't have it yet, but my Dad is going to give me his S&W 686 at some point, which was given to him by my mother's father when he entered the force.

Brand new ar-15. unfortunatly, guns skipped 2 generations of my family, so no hand-me-downs.

Don't feel bad. At least you can't make the mistake of selling a heirloom firearm.

The AR-15 will serve you well, and hopefully, you will be able to pass it down to your children.

I've got two heirloom firearms at the moment.

One is an ancient bolt action Winchester 69 .22 rifle. This rifle fits me like nothing else, and is extremely accurate.

The other is a Marlin 336 .30-30. I've upgraded the sights on this one, since it is not a collectible firearm in any sense, and it is an excellent GP rifle.

Oh, I dunno. I don't have any heirlooms. I'm pretty partial to my CZ 550 FS. The Springfield 1911 loaded has a special place as well. Also my CZ SxS Durango.

This belongs in the General Forum.

When I pass, they will be heirlooms. :) But I suspect the greedly little buggers will sell everything.

Well, the firearm I currently own and treasure most is my Walther PPK/S. Yep, it's fairly new, and yep, I have several S&W and Colt revolvers, but my dad gave me the Walther as a gift. When he passes one day (hopefully not anytime soon - he survived a heart attack 12 years ago and still trucking at 65), my most treasured firearms list will go up to five - the PPK/S, and his Colt Diamondback, S&W Model 66 (no dash), Marlin Golden 39A, and Marlin 336.

A cheap old bolt action, tube fed magazine 22 that doesn't work anymore.

Why doesn't it work?

Well, between my grandfather, my dad, and myself it's been shot enough that it's a true smoothbore now. And the two little ears on the thing that lifts the next round to be chambered out of the tube and into position for the bolt to chamber it? They're worn right off. Been loading it as a single shot for years. You can even see three distinct handprints in the forearm finish it's been handled so much.

That one's my favorite.

I have several from my recently late grandfather R.I.P.
a winchester 74 .22 made in 1948

a winchester 24 12ga SxS made in 1950( seeing a pattern there:D thats just a couple of em)

a spotless (b.c. miroku) charles daly 12ga

I will shoot them all 'till the day I day and will never sell them. If I'm lucky when my time comes I'll die hunting with one of them.

Mine is my grandfathers 1st generation colt Peacemake in .45 Colt.
The gun was handed down to me a few years ago.
