I am in the process of my first reloads with a hornady AP and mr bulletfeeder setup. I am adjusting the drop on the bullet feeder, but when cycled to the next station the bullet falls off the brass. .223 is the size I am reloading, and the brass is sized and cleaned that I purchased from Top Brass. I have my own brass that I have sized with a dillon rt1200 trimmer, but no case gauge so was concerned on using it.

I don't use Mr. Bulletfeeder, but there are 2 or 3 who use them on AR15.com. You might ask there.

I will say that the Mr. Bulletfeeder design relies partly on the weight of the bullet stack to drop a bullet hard enough to stick. With pistol calibers it also depends on if you bell the case enough. I heard that that isn't necessary in rifle calibers, but using a Dillon trimmer you probably are not chamfering the case mouths....that may be your problem. Mr. Bullet Feeder Users seem to get away without actually belling rifle brass, but you need a good chamfer at least with flat-based bullets. Boat tails may be easier to stick.

A "M" die can be used to bell the mouth of the 223 just enough to make it much easier to stab/start a projectile. Most people I've heard of using bullet feeder for the 223 have the M die in their tool head.

I use boat tail bullets with mine and trim with the Dillon, with no "belling".

Don't know about FB bullets, never tried.

The bullet stack is needed to "tamp" the bottom bullet into the case and it's best to set the dropper so it releases the bullet as soon as it can to give the most inertia to the bottom bullet.

I have an RCBS bullet feeder for handgun bullets on the way from Graf's. Hopefully, it'll work as well for me as for the guys on YouTube! ;) I don't mind placing a bullet in the mouth of the .223s, which I do load a bunch of.

What Skinner said, use an "M" die. Works good for me. Use as little bell as you can get away with and have the bullet stay put when indexing.

Went with lee precision universal expanding die, works great! Loaded 1000 rounds today. Thanks for all the input!
