Normally I do not bother reading anything in the gossip rags, but ...

Heidi Montag & Spencer Pratt spend $10,000 on guns

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are the couple that America loves to hate. But while that playful animosity has bought Spencer and Heidi their own 15 minutes of fame and made them a fortune, it has also brought them some negative attention. “Spencer does have a few enemies,” one pal explains. “He’s alienated a lot of people now that he’s rich and famous.” As Perez Hilton reported on his blog, Spencer, 24, and Heidi, 21, have been concerned about their protection. So the couple visited the Martin B. Retting store in Culver City, Calif., on June 7 and spent more than $10,000 on guns to arm themselves. They purchased two Benelli semiautomatic M4 tactical shotguns, two Wilson close quarter combat .45-caliber pistols and one Scout semiautomatic rifle. “They wanted the exact guns that the U.S. Delta Force uses,” a friend explains. Spencer wants to be prepared for anything,” says the friend. For more go to the new InTouch.

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=102348062 Benelli M-4 @ $1, 575.00 x 2 = $2,120.00

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=102252051 Wilson CQB Elite @ $2,650.00 x 2 = $5,300

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=102628418 M1A1 scout @ $1,599.99

That's $9,025.99 + transfer fees & taxes.

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=102557613 .308 ammo @ $1,500

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=102705379 12 guage 00 Buck @ $220.00

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=102742558 .45acp @ $16/20 x 20 = $320.00

That's $2,040.00 + taxes.

GT = $11,065.99 + taxes, transfer fees, CA-mandated safes, burglar alarms, etc. No range fees included.

Guess Mr. & Mrs. Hollywood went cheap if they brought all their purchases in for $11K. But itsure sounds like a lot when you see it in some gossip rag.

stay safe.

Those are the exact same guns Delta uses?
Oh well, I guess they are delta operators now that they've got the gear! I wonder if they'll practice or if they bought one box of ammo for each gun and figure practice is for poor people, not celebs.

Highly unlikely they bought $2000 worth of ammo. They probably bought one box of ammo or will never even shoot the guns.

Never heard of them. I could care less about the Hollyweird types. Leeches living off of the rest us, contributing nothing to society.

Abridged, they are trust fund kids, that got on a TV show and thus this is how we know them, I don't know what they're politics are but I guess we go with the "they are from CA let us assume otherwise until we hear something".

The thing here that irks me is the "Mall ninja" quotes we are going to here 2 things first IT IS SOMEBODY INTERESTED IN DEFENDING THEMSELVES we need that we cannot pick and choose who is going to support us, and anti's trolling this site will use this to sink us if we lose Heller, Next I if said I purchased a M1A scout, like them because it is similar to what the D-boys use I would probably be getting high fives around here.

This and other threads are starting to make me think if I am watching the self-destruction of our community.

Are they less-legitimate gun owners because they have the "caysh" to buy all those goodies in one dealer trip? Does that make them mall-ninjas?

Or, are we more-legitimate because it would take must of us several years (maybe decades) to acquire all those toys?

I hope they each go out and spend $10,000 in training and ammo.
Don't all of us wish we could?

It would be great if they spent some time and money trying to fix the laws in cali

The Benelli goes for 1.5k on gun broker :O

"This and other threads are starting to make me think if I am watching the self-destruction of our community."

I don't think it's destructive to our community if some us could care less what "trust fund kids " do for show and tell.

I wouldent be doing that until Heller got back.

I don't think it's destructive to our community if some us could care less what "trust fund kids " do for show and tell.

Ashton Kutcher is on Leno bragging about his SA 1911, and we treat him as a hero, these two went privately to a gun store bought some weapons and went home, a friend later on spilled about it, I see a difference.

I care so little about most 'stars' that I don't even know the names of some actors I like. So I was really confused about who these people are. I was sure I would recognize thier faces since after all "america loves to hate" them according to someone.

Still don't know who they are. I am sure I could look up thier names, get a overview of thier resume and what they have done in the spotlight, but I am not so inclined.

I guess I am just out of touch.
I don't know what the fall fashion is going to be according to some 'experts' on what what will be in style, nor do I know what some people in hollywood are choosing to do in the privacy of thier own homes. That includes what inanimate objects they have chosen to purchase and store there.
But hey if it impacts someone in a pro RKBA way then that is great.

If I had the cash...

Hm, well I own enough guns really. I'd like to take a lot of time off of work and go off and take some classes too...

Point is, well...I hate to say it thusly but:

Why be hatin'????

Jealousy/envy is unbecoming. Understandable, I guess...I wish *I* was that rich. Famous I could do without. But why bad-mouth 'em?

Annoyance that they aren't gonna train/practice is called for. Or it would be, if we KNEW that was the case!!!!

Say whatever else you will about them, but anyone interested in SELF-DEFENSE and seeing the NEED for it has at least some neurons firing in the 'ol gray matter. "Trust-fund" baby or not...

I'm not sure who they are, other than media celebrities. Why all the animosity towards them?

I wonder if they are members of NRA or CRPA? They should be.

Who's their agent? Maybe someone could make the suggestion that they stand up and publicly support 2AD in an area that is generally not supportive of such issues?

The reception in my cave must be bad. I don't recognize the names.
Maybe I should come out from behind my rock

Never hard of them. Unless they are getting some special privileges in regards to what guns they get to buy, or with CCW permits that "regular" people in CA ant do because they rent rich or famous then I say more power to them.If they are getting special treatment, then I say, nothing new here. Seems to be very common in CA especially, but anywhere in general for those with money power, connections, fame, etc, and THAT I most certainly hate.
