"...NJSP did not have a good maintenance program for their trooper's guns. " [C0untZer0]

"Hagerty said each trooper's sidearm is checked twice a year when he requalifies himself at the state police firing range. Worn parts are replaced if necessary at that time, he said." State police spokesman John Hagerty [See: "Murdered trooper had faulty handgun" Thomas Zolper, Bergen County Record, March 16, 1999]

Most predators will not only try to catch you off guard, but with busy hand(s) as well.

For that reason, I always pack 2; where my strong hand can readily reach my primary gun, and my weak hand can reach my BUG.

I carry a knife on each side of my body for the same reason - you never know which hand will be available when the time comes.

Due to my philosophy, I have trained and I can draw and shoot proficiently with my weak hand.

ACP, thanks for the reply. Cargos make things work out :)

Reminds me of a commercial (at least I think it was a commercial, I don't remember for sure) where a guy is unloading gear from his cargos. Pulls out a ridiculous number of tools that are actually helpful, but by the time it's over, he's removed a jar of mayonnaise, etc. lol

Back in the day (mid 1980's) when I owned a mini market I carried a snubby Mod 19 in a shoulder holster, a 1911 on my belt and a J frame on my ankle. Plus reloads for the Mod 19 and 1911.

It was comforting.

Be sure to save room for a good belt knife, boot knife, and a general-purpose/multi-purpose/all-purpose knife somewhere. Plus a Wave. Don't forget the Surefire. Night happens ever day!

I think that the next big breakthrough will be in Lightweight Body Armor. We speak a lot about guns here because it's a gun forum, but having a vest or other type protection, is an invaluable tool.
The problem always has been the weight and bulkiness, especially in hot places. I think that there are several companies about to make a breakthrough in that field. And perhaps you may need to slide in a plate for rifles and shotguns, but for pistols, I believe it can be done.

Got that all covered.

Also have a compass and Zippo as well. :)

I carry a .380 auto in an ankle holster all the time. As in, after my socks go on, the holster goes on.

Along with that, I wear either a .45 or a .38 in a shoulder rig. That's what I think of as "a gun." The .380 is... clothing.

I very rarely carry two. When I do it's a Beretta Px4 SC or a Glock 26 carried AIWB and a Glock 42, Ruger LCR, or hopefully soon a Beretta Pico carried in a pocket or ankle holster.

VooDoo

I always carry Two Snubs. I have Six that I rotate. Lately I have been carrying my 442 in my pocket and LCR357 AIWB.

Can only carry one gun concealed in New Mexico. If you wanted to carry two guns you would have to open carry one and concealed carry the second. Therefore, I only carry one gun.

Chic Gaylord did a stunt for LEO's at one time. He appeared dressed in a normal business suit, then he started pulling out guns. I think he usually had at least a dozen on his person and IIRC that didn't include ankle holsters or other unusual places, just belt and shoulder holster carry. (His company made a high quality line of holsters.)

Of course, not even he carried that many guns all the time; as I said, it was a stunt to show that with good holsters, concealed guns would stay concealed.

On another site, one man stated that he routinely carried two "big" Glocks (models not given), two "little" Glocks, two extra loaded magazines for each, a Bowie knife, nun-chuks, and a box of ammo for each gun. I thought he was either a liar or a fool, and wondered how he could even walk, let alone conceal that kind of hardware.

Glock aiwb at 1 o'clock and j frame in right pants pocket. Mainly because I like being able to put my hand on j frame in pocket proactively and it is an even quicker draw that way than aiwb if I don't have my hand on it already. Also a fixed blade in sheath just forward of my left hip.

John Bianchi....

John Bianchi, www.Bianchi-intl.com a former sworn LE officer & general officer(CA National Guard) made a photo of himself wearing several holstered firearms.
He could carry quite a few, :D .
I've seen a few security officers & cops who wore or packed a lot of kit. ;)

Carrying 2 handguns isn't unusual or out of place.
3/4/5? Well that's another story....

I don't wanna know where the nun-chuks went.

I always carry an M&P Bodyguard. I am currently packing my 92fs in a tanker holster along with it today. I love a bigger gun when I can conceal it.

However, most days all I can carry is a little pocket .380 like the BG. I usually horse around carrying a 1911 or the 92 or something else full sized along with the BG in the winter. But to be honest, I usually decide it's too heavy and bulky and supplement the BG with my LCP in the other coat pocket.

If I am carrying two guns of different caliber, it's usually my SP101 on my hip and the BG in my back pocket.
