I have a SAK "Executive" in my front pocket. I have a Benchmade 950 Osborne 50/50 in my pocket and a Leatherman Super Tool 200 on my belt.

The leatherman is worn at work and sometimes for range trips. The SAK and Benchmade roll everyday otherwise.

I have a Victorinox Champion SAK from the early 80's,which is on my belt daily. I broke the tip off the main blade about 10 years back. I sent it back to VIctorinox USA and about a month later received it back completely overhauled, complete with new red grip panels and toothpick. They had sent it back to Switzerland airmail for the repair work! Truly a lifetime product.

I have a Victorinox SAK for EDC while a Leatherman Skeletool is part of my "GOOD" Bag (aka Get Out Of Dodge). I also added to the mix a Morakniv Kansbol fixed blade knife which I got for Christmas.

Barring uber-ridiculous "security" restrictions, I always have a couple of knives on a keychain -- a Victorinox SAK Classic and an ancient Gerber lock-back with an unstated metal (crappy pic included):

I have a small SAK I tried to carry in my jeans watch pocket like you, but every time I bend over it pops out and falls.

My hearing isn’t the best and I’m afraid I won’t hear it fall one time, so I stopped carrying it. Probably should just throw it in my back pocket with my keys.

When I started carrying a one-hand opening knife, I stopped carrying my SAK Tinker and started carrying a multi-tool. At some point, I later started carrying an SAK Mini, mostly for the tweezers and scissors, so now, I carry both. Plus a few other handy items as well, like a flashlight and one of these.
Probably should just throw it in my back pocket with my keys.
The SAK Minis have a keyring attachment. Just add it to your keyring.

I keep a Leatherman Super Tool in my EDC bag. I generally don't need it so immediately to warrant keeping it on my person.

Decades ago now, the newly Mrs. Morris and I we’re on honeymoon in Hawaii up in the hills on a bike ride, when her bikini top clasp broke. I rode to the closest end of the fence and clipped a piece of wire off the tied end and bent up a new one. She made fun of me for carrying it that morning, something like “what are you going to need that for?” That was the last time she questioned me about always having it. She makes sure I have it at weddings or other times we are leaving and I am not normally dressed.

You were on your honeymoon and you fixed that! ;)

I've tried carrying a leatherman in the past but found myself wanting to just simply walk back to the truck, garage, atv, etc for a suitable tool for the job. I guess if one is working away from all tools and is probable to get into a situation of needing a random tool then it makes sense.

The one leatherman that I could see myself actually carrying is the Crunch as the standard pliers are only good for rounding off what one wants turn or hold. My criticism of the crunch is I felt they should have just provided a non-serrated blade, keep the file and then provide a thin 1/4" drive with a few simple inserts that attach to the side of the thin part of the 1/4" drive beneath the round head.

I keep one in my hiking pack but to carry one on my belt they just felt too bulky for daily carry.

I carry a leatherman orignal PST in my pocket every day. I need to find a belt pouch for it. I carried a wave on my belt for years before that and I can't imagine not having a leatherman tool on me. it's saved my butt a couple times, and it's saved me lots of walking back to the shop to get the tool I needed for a quick fix.

I do sometimes carry a SAK in addition to the Leatherman and my several knives too. A leatherman and a pocket knife is a hard combo to beat.

I have carried a Swiss Army Knife in my pocket for years and years.
I have a Leatherman Multi-Tool in my hiking pack and a Gerber Multi-Tool in my truck.
I tried to switch to a Leatherman in the pocket but mainly used the Knife blade so I switched back. I also like the can opener on the SAK, but the Leatherman does work....

I used to carry a multi-tool everywhere, the pliers and wire cutting ability really beat out the SAK for me. Also, the SAK always felt more fragile. I'm sure if you use it within design limitations ... the point of carrying it was to have SOMETHING that might work right now, and I don't ever remember having a problem that really fit into the SAK's limitations.

Of course, the multi-tool needs to be on the belt not in a pocket. Sometimes that could make a difference I guess

Some of the medium size multi-tools like a Skeletool carry in the pocket just as nice as a pocket knife. I can clip my Skeletool to my pocket and it feels pretty much the same as most 3-3.5 inch long folding knives.

Well this thread got me thinking. My Leatherman Super Tool has been in my EDC bag for several years, but it does lack a few things that I appreciate.

So I moved it to my hiking bag and bought a Wave Plus for EDC, which I broke in pretty thoroughly last night (hence the wear marks):

I appreciate having scissors. What I appreciate more is having multiple screwdriver, hex and torque bits. Fortunately, that's an option on this particular multi tool. So an extended driver, bit set, and pocket clip are on the way.

And because that bit set makes the fixed flat head screwdriver a little redundant, I decided I'd rather have an awl instead. So I made it into one.

Didn't see any SOG power pliers, I've had these for over 20 years. Broke the pivot pin on one side misusing them...

SOG fixed, no ??? asked. Using your leg and both hands to try to loosen a release valve... :uhoh:

Being a professional forester means I take a backpack with me everywhere on a day to day basis, except on every other Saturday when I go to the city. In it is my lunch, a multitool, Swiss army knife, water, hat, gloves, and a myriad of MacGyver like items. You’d be amazed at how useful a spare karabiner, key ring, pair of tweezers, small light , etc., all come in handy when needed. It’s my man purse.

I also have a multitool in the console of my truck for my non-work days. I may pick up a small SAK of decent quality to toss in my pocket also. I just haven’t discovered the need yet.
