Every Friday morning on my way to work, I pass a half dozen yard sales. This morning, I stopped at one and there was a powder flask and a ball starter. A woman had already picked them up, $1 each. (I hear about such deals but never get them) The home owner says they belonged to her late great uncle and were for "gun cleaning" Two yard sales later, I see a bunch of hardware and long handle tools like shovels and rakes standing in a corner. A gun stock caught my eye. An Ardesa 50 caliber rifle. Stock, lock, ram rod, Barrel. a couple of screws and a sight missing. Appeared un fired. Old guy says it aint no good, just a wall hanger. $30.00. The money almost caught fire I pulled it out so fast. The next yard sale has a CVA frontier rifle with DST's. It was marked $75.00. I asked the lady what the best price would be cause it had some rust on it. (Again, the money couldn't be pulled out fast enough.) The amount she asked was almost obscenely low. One last yard sale as I approached the office, two possible bags and a maxi ball mold, all over priced. I did get a capper for $2.00

I don't see muzzle loader stuff at yard sales for years and then all in one day.

It is Friday the 13th. I'd be worried that all that stuff might just be a fragment of my imagination. On the other hand if you find that all your lunch money mysteriously has disappeared and the treasures are still in your car when you get home then it's likely that all the stars were indeed properly aligned and your karma was in really fine tune.

You also might want to buy a lottery ticket on the way home tonite.

Got lucky at one a few weeks ....was wanting a muzzle break for my 1911 but wasny gonna pay what they cost new...2 days later find one at a yardsell for 2 bucks

I was at a big yard sale yesterday, wonderful place!
No ML things but the complicated half of a moonshine still for $5 :D
I may or may not have bought that little illegal gem...

Well the traditions Deer Hunter was missing a sear spring and a few other parts. The kicker is some bubba glued the barrel to the stock with what appears to be clear tub caulk. So I'm gonna pour some boiling water through the barrel and see if the glue loosens up.

The CVA Frontier rifle seems to operate just fine. Already have two other Frontier rifles. We use em at the club to teach newbies, scouts and such.

That is what the Deerhunter is destined for when repaired.

(I also have a half dozen pistols for the same purpose. 3 CVA Mtn pistols and 3 Kentucky pistols. Trying to get loading stands, pistol rests and a shooting box together for each. We have a few guys who help serve as mentor/instructors.)

Only illegal if its all ther and works an u use it
Unfortuatly not so here, possession of a still or parts thereof is illegal.
I know a pub that has one in the front window, they had to drill it full of holes, solder every pipe shut and display the permit beside it to have a defunct still on display

Gah! Silicone, boiling water won't do squilch.
Only way to remove cured silicone rubber is by abrasion:cuss:
Acetone might swell the rubber some, helping to brake the bond to the underlaying material but it wont dissolve it by a long stretch
Good luck!

Actually if u have a permit you can own and use a still...and can even buy them online. .but thats a topic for another forum
