Ok so i took some 243 and 308 brass and cut em down to 1.18" necked them with 41 mag seating die to the depth they need to headspace. I used 410 sp wads 5gr green dot and filled the shot cup with hornady bbs. I put a cap on them made from primer box cut with a 10mm case in a drill. They work pretty nice at 10 yards. I made a case measuring jig for cutting them down. Id like to come up with a crimping system. Any ideas? 15574598810931088353067.jpg 1557459922125345677647.jpg

Very cool!

It seems like the concave profile of the push plunger on a bullet seating die might work as a crimp die to round the end of the case over? Just a thought.

Are these going to be used in a revolver... or manually racked in a semi-auto? I assume there is no way a shot shell would cycle a semi-auto?

It would be cool to see the shot pattern on a piece of paper if you were up for posting one?

How are you going to alter a powder measure to feed the shot into the cases in your progressive press? :)

I made modified a die to form mine and made an insert that pushes down the over shot card as it rolls the case mouth over the card.

Looks like this step by step.

I cheated a bit for my 380 shotshells and just machined an insert that drops into a Lee powder die to form the case 4CEFCF7B-505C-4D0C-8D8A-18EEC4F36F72.jpeg

And I use a 45 ACP RN bullet seater to roll crimp them.

I hope that’s not your case cutting fixture in the last photo with a live round in it! At least pull the bullet and dump the powder.

Lol that live round in the case cutter was for demonstration its a 270 round and the extractor groove wont work for my 1911 well. I will get pics of pattern on paper when its not raining. Yes i glued the tops to seal them with wood glue. These are fired from a 1911. They cycle the slide when i use 6gr bullseye but then the pattern is spread too far so i rack them manually. As for a progressive press i have been reloading centerfire for a little over a month so im gonna stick with the o frame i got lol.
