We were hunting whitetail and mule deer on our farm. He was with my dad while my 8 year old was with me. It was getting close to the end of legal hunting time and a group of gobblers decided to get a little too close.

Here is the bird.

Another one did good! Now i really want to live where you do. I cant wait til my youngest ones are old enough. My 3yr old and 2yr old would last about 2minutes sitting before they started exploring the area. One right behind the other.

You'll know when they are ready. Even at 6 I frequently have to keep a tight leash on him and sometimes he gets bored and wants to go do something else. We always bring the .22s and plenty of ammo when we take them hunting in case they don't really want to hunt that day. I've also got a 4 year old that already wants to go and an almost 2 year old that I hope won't be far behind.

I'm curious, just what is that camo pattern that boy's a wearin?
I'll have to git me some a them for my next hunt. ;)
Tell him I said "He did good".

Maybe next year them boys will let me hunt with'em.

Just had a thought...If you go to the Field and Stream website, you can post their pics online. Posted my daughters' pic there last year and she was proud as a courtin peacock.

Skeleton pattern camo has the advantage that it makes the turkeys laugh until they pass out. Then they are easier to hit.

Must be where I messed up last year. Know where I can get some?
Do ya know if they come in a size "fat"?

My wife says they came from Target. 90% off post-Halloween sale. The shirts were 70 cents. Not sure about the pants, but probably about the same price.

Seriously, they seem to make a great base layer for kids when it's cold. Just wasn't cold that evening.
