How hard was it to do? Some folks say you need some VooDoo to make it come out right. I have a blast cabinet, professional quality mini-air brush, filtered compressed air supply and a regulator.

I could get a small oven for the baking. So, how hard was it to do?

Is that a PT1911? If so was the slide ground down? I hate the billboard they use!
I really like the contrasting color look.
$350 seems a bit high from some of the numbers ive read from other places, Was the price higher due to extra work besides the coating?

I know my PT1911 is really gaining some nice holster wear. It gets hard some days to really want a nice finish the gun never really had, But i like the holster worn look also.
So i guess for now ill just wait a while.

Did i mention i really like it?!

Yes. It is a PT1911. What gave it away?

No - they did not grind the logo down, but they did bead blast it before the cerakote was applied.

The original finish was stainless.

Thanks,

jjs

I used cerakoted a few times. I really like the stuff. Tough as nails and goes on easy, just make sure you follow directions. Certainly no voodoo required, no harder to use than any of the other stuff. If I can do it anyone can. You'll need an oven and air brush. If you buy some store the leftover liquid in the frig and it'll last a lot longer than the spec sheet shelf life.
