I think I have attached a picture of my five-year-old daughter with her first gun. She wanted a pink gun, so guess what she got. You got it...a pink Cricket .22. We are taking her to shoot it for the first time next week. I am as excited as she is.

This picture, if I got the download right, is the first time she picked it up. I was very proud of her. Before she put her hands on it, she asked me to show her how to dertermine if it is loaded. Notice where she has her little trigger finger.

She really makes me proud. She is intelligent, kind, pretty, and she already practices safe firearm handling.

Beautiful! You have a right to be proud of your little darling. She is gorgeous, smart, and has an obvious good and safe start with her rifle!

How adorable. I wanted to pick up the same for my little girl, but my wife was with me and gave me heck. I'll have to go back without her, though it will be a while before she can shoot it. She's barely nine months old and we're still having challenges holding a bottle and crawling straight. :D

Heartwarming

Boy, doesn't that just make you warm all over.

'Course, in another ten years, you'll be having that father-daughter "what caliber for boyfriend" talk.

:D

She's a cutie.

Well done.

What a gorgeous picture, and adorable daughter. Good for you teaching her about firearms - and their correct handling - at an early age.

You must be very proud......

Beautiful little girl...But be honest, before you snapped the picture did you remind her to keep her booger hook off of the trigger, or did she just remember?:D

Good for you!

As far as I know Elvex is the only company that is making safety glasses that might fit her properly. http://www.elvex.com/ They just came out with several models that are sized properly for little folks. Look for ear muffs that will adjust to fit her properly as well. Wanna keep her shooting safely for a long time. :D

I'm not 'computer smart' enough to enclose pictures but My grandsons, ages 6 and 8 share their new scoped Rossi 22/410 in a very similar trained atmosphere! And they love to shoot exploadables (water filled jugs, cans, Easter eggs. etc).

Grandchildren are truly God's gift to use...for not killing our kids! :D:D

That makes me jealous.
Keep a hold of that picture, you'll need to show her boyfriends in a few years why she can put more in the 10 range than they can.

You must be very proud.

Very cool dad!

I hope she ends up like my daughter.

I signed her up for the local police explorers program when she was 15 and with all the shooting time we put in together over the years, she out shot the dept LT and Sgt at the range and in three years came home with many trophys, pics in the paper and many big hugs for dad(the best of all).

Now grown up, she introduced her fiance' to shooting and has turned him and his father into fervent gun collectors and shooters.

Pass it on......................
