I started loading 5.7x28 when I bought my ps90. If you shoot this at all you know how pricey it is (about 50 cents a shot here). This cartridge doesn't have much available for load data yet, accurate and ramshot currently have data. I based my loads off the data from accurate powders.

I started by loading the 35 grn. Hornady Vmax with 7.4 grains of #7 powder and winchester WSR primers. This load does not function well in the ps90's magazine. I disassembled a factory ss195lf round, weighed and made a size comparison of the two bullets. The Vmax is less than half the length of the factory's 28 grn. bthp. By subsituting a Barnes .224 36 grn. varmint grenade it can be loaded to the same depth as the Vmax, while retaining a COL that is very close to the ss195's. This ended the magazine feed problem and has proven quite accurate (baseball sized 50 round groups at 100 yards). I can't set up a chronograph at the indoor range where I shoot so I don't have velocities for this yet, but it should be about 2500 fps

I'm anxious to test both the ps90 and the Varmint Grenades on a coyote hunt next month.

I found a handful or more of brass case 5.7 at the range the other day.it's not enough to bother yet, but if I find any more, I'll look you up. Maybe we can work out a sale or trade.
