It's also interesting how animals have a sixth sense for intent. They know who's actually a threat.

We have it too. Many people just don't listen to their instincts. Whenever I get that odd feeling in my gut like someone is a bad person, I listen to it and avoid that person.

Heck, it once kept me from having to truly defend myself. I got a sense of someone nearby me in a supermarket parking lot at about 1:30AM after i had already scanned the parking lot with my eyes. I turned around and some really shady looking guy was about 40' behind me and closing. I stopped, turned and stared him directly in the eyes. He turned right and walked away. He was walking very quietly so I would not have heard him, and he was wearing a black hoodie and black jeans. It was my 6th sense that gave him away.

That is so true. Often though the sixth sense is just too illogical for people to embrace, so they ignore it.

A couple of times I've even had a bad feeling about using a certain highway or interstate route and sure enough I hear about a bad accident at about the same time I would have passed through. I'm no psychic but I have learned to listen to my gut. I also turn street lights on and off involuntarily, but that's another topic. lol

Deterrant

Hint on coons.Had trouble with them breaking into our beachhouse.Killed one and rubbed his blood around steps and pilings. No coons for 2 years!Did it again with same result. My wife thought they were cute until I asked her where most of her songbirds got off to.Told her how the little b@#%(&&^%ds specialize in birds eggs. Now no mercy.

Sadistic yet effective. I applaud your ruthlessness and understanding of animal psychology.

I experienced the same thing -animals just knowing- when my housemate asked me to kill the varmint that was terrorizing her cat. Everytime I saw this critter, I rushed to fetch the shotgun then stepped outside to hunt it down. This happened four times, and each time the darn thing had disappeared into thin air.

I finally figured out this thing was reading my intentions.

The next time, soon as I spotted it and as I prepared the shotgun, I pushed all thoughts of stalking & hunting out of my mind. Forced myself to think about totally unrelated things. Stepped outside, walked around to the end of the house, and there it was ready to meet its maker.

Problem solved the country way!

The H&R shotgun is designed for exactly what you used it for, defending livestock/yourself or simply killing off the occasional pest animal. And their new topper trap is death on clays, ive upset more than a couple perazzi/caeser guerrini shooters with it :).
