When I graduated high school, my mom and dad presented me with my first firearm; a Ruger New Model Single Six convertible. I was hooked and became a gun nut instantly. Over the past several years my collection has inflated some. I obtained a few more from my father. It is definitley an addiction! What was your first firearm?

My first firearm was a Mossberg 500AT 12Gauge :D
First revolver how ever is a Ruger GP-100 3'

First firearm was a Stirling .22 rifle manufactured in the Phillipines (1988).
First revolver was an antique Norwegian Nagant (1990).
First shooting revolver was a S&W Model 66-5 (1999.
Current revolvers are a 66 no dash and an 18-3.

I appreciate you guys responding to my thread, I am newto this community as of yeserday. I do alot of reading on the forums on here so I figured heck, why not join lol. I hope y'all have a great day.

Colt Navy .36 (Uberti, I think). Soon followed, when I turned 21, with a Colt Detective Special.

K-38 Combat Masterpiece Revolver Model 15. I received in a trade for metal detector and I have been hooked on revolvers ever since.:)

Mossberg 151M(b) .22 LR semiauto rifle that was made in the late 1940s. My grandfather gave it to me less than 3 months before he passed away.
Obviously I still have it and will never sell it.
My dad is a collector, so I was hooked long before I ever owned a gun.

couple of long guns, 20 ga and 22 rifle, gifts
but 1st handgun was a High Standard Double Nine both cylinders, mighty similar to your Single Six, still own it and shoot it

My first firearm was a Browning Hi-Power .9mm. target model. When I got out of the navy, I got a job with an armed transport co. for this job i bought a new S&W 686-4 with a 4 in. bbl. latter on we went to .40 cal DA/SA. autos. It could be a Colt, Ruger, Beretta, or S&W. I did not want to get rid of my S&W 686-4, so I traded my H.P for a Beretta model 96. That's the only gun I regret selling.:banghead:

Technically, my first firearm was a .75 caliber matchlock brass cannon I made myself when I was around twelve. My first already-made (sort of) gun was a half-finished kit of a .41 caliber percussion cap Derringer I got by mail order when I was 13.

That cannon was quite a boomer, btw.

I'm almost 60 and just bought my first two handguns. A S&W 649 for my wife and a 686 4 in. barrel for me. Been going to the range and loving it. The world has changed drastically since I was coming up. It's a dangerous place out there and one had better be prepared to defend him/her self.

My first gun was Red Rider BB gun when I was 5 yo.
By age 6, I was shooting a Springfield bolt-action SS .22.

Edit:
By age 9, I had my first BB pistol.

A Marlin .22 bolt gun when I turned 12. The first gun I ever bought was a 91/30, and dang if the milsurp bug didn't bite deep.

The first one I owned myself would have been an Indian Enfield No1Mk3 given to me by my Dad when I was a teenager.

My first gun was a Daisy BB gun in the 2nd grade. It was followed by a Mossberg semi-auto 22 rifle when I was in the 9th grade.

Man! I love hearing about all these fine weapons. I have to admit, technically my "first" gun was a Red Ryder bb gun. The Ruger I received for graduation was my first actual firearm. Its awesome how everyone has a story to tell, and only if some of the guns our fathers and grandfathers have given us could speak...the stories they could tell.

My first firearm was 20ga Winchester Model 37. My first handgun was Heckler & Koch Mk23 cal. .45ACP pistol. The pistol was great in that with minimal target time I could outshoot most of the regular guys at the range. Yes, in certain instances just throwing money at something makes accomplishing certain tasks easier. This is fine example of such an instance.

I got my first handgun when I turned 21, 4-63, it was a Colt .38 super auto. I paid less than $50.00 for it. It was used but in mint cond. I sold it several years later for a really good profit. Ever time I think about selling it , I could shoot myself in the foot. :banghead:
