I haven't posted on THR in awhile, and I was just thinking about this today so I figured I'd post it on here.
Back before the big ammo rush when .22lr was still available for purchase in stores, I had bought one of the federal bulkpack 22lr which was 525 rounds. I was bored one day and started thinking about how federal actually knew that there was 525 rounds in the box, so I opened it up and counted them one by one, and sure enough there was less than 525, cannot remember exactly how much it was off, but it was over 50, so I was kinda of amused by this and sent an email to them to let em know that some of the counts may be off by a bit, and that while it was not a huge deal to me, they may be interested in investigating and fixing the problem.
So I get a call a few days later with a sincere apology and an offer to replace the value of the missing rounds, I told them it was not necessary and the apology and investigation of the issue were payment enough, he insisted so I eventually accepted. Before we got off the phone, he asked "Just out of sheer curiosity, what kind of scale do you have?" I replied "Scale?" he says "Well yeah, I mean you obviously didn't just sit and count them one by one"
*Long silence*
Ok well we will be getting that check out to you shortly, have a great day and sorry for any trouble again.
Got a $5.00 check in the mail later.
