My Garand Arrived

My Rifle arrived today the 22nd of April. FedEx delivered my CMP purchased Springfield Armory M1 Garand Rifle manufactured in Aug of '44. Here are a few pics! Let me know what you think! Oh, I forgot to mention, its a Service Grade.

Seriously, enjoy. I have a Service grade and have been enjoying burning through my stock of Greek surplus. There's nothing like letting an old WWII vet run a clip through while you're at the range. It's not often you see a grown man smile with tears in his eyes.

Congrats! Garands are the best. Now tell us the manufacturer and drawing number of each part...you may have been luckier than you think.

The barrel says 'SA F6535448 2 55 A218B' then there is what appears to be an upside down U, or horse shoe, than the letter 'M'
Further down is the square stamp with the eagle and 3 stars in it.

The top back end of the bolt reads: 'D28287-12SA' and then under that reads B4B.

Anything special there?

the M1 will make you want to get into reloading, those rifles will do some amazing things with good handloads

Nice rifles maybe someday if you ever need parts not sure if this is the best place or not but have lots of them.
