well i got this a week or so ago, and have put close to 300 rounds through it, mostly winchester ranger NATO 9mm, and gold dot +p 124gr jhp's. no probs at all. completely consistent ejection pattern, and total reliability so far. accurate little blaster.

i put in a smoothface gen3 trigger bar to lighten the pull, part number 000357. it does not have the bump on the safety cam, but still has the curved trigger spring engagement arm.

the out of the box trigger pull was about 6.5lbs. dropping in the gen3 trigger bar got it down to about 5.5lbs (on par with the gen3's).

i still have the stock connector in. i tried my 4.5lb oem one and didn't like the mushiness, or the longer reset.

grip feels great. the hump on the backstrap isn't as pronounced as the gen3 26, even with the medium backstrap installed. also, the grip texture is very grippy, i don't have to re-adjust between shots.

50 rounds of 9mm NATO at 15 yards:

(drank a monster on the way to the range, so my hands were a little shaky lol)

current defense ammo in it is Federal's Tactical Bonded 124gr +p. those four rounds next to it are some 147gr HST's i fired into some dry phone books. they caved in as jhp's do when hitting hard barriers.

Gen4's drama: They are only problematic with low power American ammo. I have no problem, even with that stuff. If your wrist is more noodly, then get some Nato spec or European ammo.

Nice write up, Apoc. And even better shooting!

thank you kind sir. :)

the newest recoils spring updates are supposed to make the gen4 17 & 19's just as reliable as their gen3 counterparts-according to glock techs in GA. the reviews on the newest springs have been good. to early to say for sure, but it looks like they may have finally made those two models dead reliable with any ammo like the gen3's.

the gen4 26 has the exact same upper assembly as the gen3, so there were never any issues with that gen4 9mm :)

Nice pistol, I have been thinking of getting a gen 3 26. Either the 26 or the M&P 9c, very close call for me. Great shooting, considering the monster. Hope you enjoy, smitty704

Good looking pistol and you are a lot more accurate than I am!! Great shots!

How do you like the changeable grip? Did it make any difference to you? Did you change it out. Thanks for the info.

thank you as well!

i tried the medium backstrap. i can shoot well with that one too, but i have such small hands that i can get more finger on the trigger and reach the mag release easier with no backstrap :)

i can shoot with the large backstrap too, but it's just way to big for me lol

i know glock says that the medium backstrap gets you the gen3 grip, but it still feels smaller to me.

I have a Gen3 and may pickup a Gen4 in the future, hard to beat a Glock 26. Thanks for the review and pics.
