BTW, for the record, the springfield 745b was a later version of the savage 720. It utilized a trigger plate assembly package that was quite different than its predecessors-I believe (could be mistaken here) there is no lower tang on the trigger plate for the buttstock. And I think the receiver was aluminum alloy, not steel. If they carried the receiver design over from the Savage 720 without a lot of change, I think it should have a notch cut into the back of the receiver a la the auto 5’s for breech bolt clearance, and because of that should not have a fiber buffer. Model 11’s were somewhat unique in that regard.
