I just wanted to share with you all the joy of a 75 yard shooting range 5 minutes from work, with a 2 dollar a month fee. Walk on, walk off no RO.

I am now expending about 200 rounds a day. Shooting at AR500 steel IDPA targets.

Life is good. Being POOR isnt. It is definatly time to get that progressive reloader.

$2 a month? Shooting for less than $25 a year?!?!? Serious?!

Totally jealous. Good luck to you Sir and have fun

WOW $2 a month?!?!?:what: And to think, I was annoyed when Fish and Game increased its membership dues from 5 to $10 a year:mad:. But then again, they did put a new cover on the 100 yard range.

Nothing more expensive than a good, cheap range.:D

I still miss the garbage dump though, the rats were great reactive targets.

That is nice.
One local public range is $24 per year and quite near to where I work. I'm heading there in 3 hours.
I miss rat plinking at the dump also. Ahhhhh...where did the 1960's go?

I'll do you one better. I have a 3000ft private grass runway in my back yard. I have backstops built at about 30 degrees to the runway on the far side where I dug the drainage ditch. I have targets at 50/100/150/200/300/400/500/600/800/1000 there, and from 0-50 directly behind the house. I have a shooting bench built into the back deck, which is just off the reloading room.

This came about out of necessity. The three ranges closest to me are more than 40 miles away, one way, and average $15 per hour to shoot.

I keep the range pretty private, for insurance reasons, but I do occasionally allow a few guests. I have had so much trouble in the past with people showing up thinking this was a "public" range that last year I put in $12,000 of 8ft hog fence and a remotely operated gate, and even had to dig ditches to keep ATV's out.

Believe it or not, it wasn't that expensive. I bought about 50 acres that borders lumber company land cheap, traded some electrical work for use of a track hoe and dozer, sold some pine timber, and built a small house. I have about $250K (financed) in the whole thing, including the house.

Glad you have a good place to shoot. They're becoming harder to find. Sounds like you better get busy loading.

I used to own an RCBS Progressive loader. Once everything was set up, and the cases were all prepared (cleaned, trimmed, clean primer pockets, etc. - I could literally load 600 rounds an hour of .357 and .44 Mag cartridges.

I think it worked out averaging one every six seconds or so would fall in the little plastic box.

That was when I would go through about 500-600 rounds several nights a week, 600 rounds in an hour or two - shooting old motors, engines, etc.

Ah the joy of living where you can shoot when you want to. Here in S. CA I pay about $225/year for a season ticket to my indoor range. Good for you guys. We do have nice weather and the ocean at least. Wow, would I love to have a range like T2E. Fantastic.
