I've got an iPhone available now: "Gun Spot"

GS_LOGO_SHINE.png

More info about the app here "Gun eTools"

Some features:

You can look up any gun store or FFL transfer agent in the country.

That's over 60K records.

The app is integrated with FFL eZ Check, Google maps, GPS etc.

The data is directly from the ATF and updated monthly.

Depending on how it's accepted by the gun community I'll be adding a social component for ratings and stuff too.

Just thought I'd give everyone a heads up.

Thanks!

Well, considering I have to update the data for the app every month to make sure it's up-to-date I think it's well worth it. There is on going maintenance for the app and enhancements too. Ultimately, I'd like this to be the go-to iPhone app for any FFL question and have accurate as possible answers that comes directly from the ATF supplied FFL data.

Thanks for checking it out.

With all respect, your potential customers need to think it's worth it, and I suspect some will, albeit not as many as if it was a lower price point. I do wish you complete success with it, though.

That's very true. People have already spent in excess of $200.00 for the iPhone and pay another $60.00 per month to use it. They have implicitly already made the decision that it's worth it.

A one time cost of $9.99 to get a reliable application that provides them with the information they need to know, that is up-to-date, convenient and easy to access because they travel, have business requirements that relies on that information or what ever is a drop in the bucket in the larger scheme of things.

I don't think there is even a website on the net that does what you're app is supposed to do. Are you able to search locally by zip code, city/state? I've tested all of the "best" FFL finders on the internet, and they don't actually pull data from the FFL eZ Check database. They are simply a list of licensees that have actively registered with the sites.

Yes. You can search via zip code or partial zip code, city/state, name, find what's near an address, nearby using GPS, validate a FFL license via ATF's FFL eZ Check, Google map integration with directions and birds eye view of premisea along with gun store distribution in a city, view the vendors web site in the app, keep track of favorites plus other stuff too.

Edit: My data is refreshed every month with the actual ATF data so all new FFL licenses are added, all address changes or data changes are updated and all FFL licenses that have expired/revoked are removed. So the data is up-to-date.

More features are coming too like reviews, ratings and such that is going to be community driven.
