It's hard to go wrong with Model 12. Although regular use of +P loads from major manufacturers will accelerate wear I do not see problem with occasional or defensive carry use. I would stay away from boutique stuff like Buffalo Bore and other companies offering spicy custom loads.Do they hold up to +P loads?

Most gun buyers being amateurs these did not sell well despite being cataloged for long time and unlike ubiquitous alloyed J-framed stuff are more rarely seen on second-hand market. The Model 12 is pro-grade defensive handgun.I wish they still made them!
