This is exactly what I've been kicking around buying for idk, 3 years about. Maybe slightly different scope specs though, something capable of a lower power range. The CZ 457 is a beaut, none of my local areas here in the northeast have them in stock, ever. I'm hoping to visit a few shops in SC when I visit some folks and I am going to bring enough money to buy one if I can find one. If I can't, ill just spend it on tattoo's lolView attachment 1201007
Picked it up today and did a little bit of trigger work. I also mounted the Vortex 6 X 18 44mm scope.
Just a " plinker " but I want it to be accurate so I ordered a Jard trigger for it. I'm too old to be able to see what I'm doing anymore and I shake too much for the tiney screws to be worked on.
Right. That stock is beautiful.I bought the same rifle a year or so ago. You’ll be very happy with it. You hit the jackpot with that stock, mine isn’t nearly as figured. I put a Timney trigger on mine.
How many rounds can you expect to get out of a barrel before you see degrading accuracy. 10K? 25k? Not sure why it never occurred to me to ask before now, I know competition shooters and members here, RFC will know the answer, somebody has had to have shot one out.
I was kind of wondering based on that, wasn't sure why one would swap bblsSomeone correct me if I’m wrong, but I seriously doubt one would ever shoot a barrel out - at least with most rimfire ammo. These aren’t like CF rifles with a big powder charge pushing a jacketed bullet at 2800fps. Folks over at RFC frequently discuss swapping barrels, but I don’t ever recall it being because they shot the old one out.

Modern .22lr barrels probably take more damage from over-aggressive cleaning than actual shooting. Properly cared for, I doubt its possible to "shoot" one out.How many rounds can you expect to get out of a barrel before you see degrading accuracy. 10K? 25k? Nice! I have a Pro Varmint myself with a 6-24 Vortex Viper HS and a SilencerCo Sparrow suppressor. The CZs are really quite good rifles. Mine will shoot CCI SV in basically the same spot no sweat.View attachment 1201007

That is a nice looking rifle. I have had my vision fixed but am well acquainted with the shakey hands. Wish there was a fix for them but there is only medication and the longer you live the worse they become.View attachment 1201007

I have never known of a shot out 22 rimfire barrel. Heat is what gets barrels and the 22 doesn't generate enough. I have changed only 2 and that was a quest for improved accuracy. It worked in both cases. Both of these have lost a little in the accuracy department but I see it as a shooter that has aged 20 years and has increased shakiness which now included a little in my neck. It's hard to duplicate everything exactly when your brain is telling your muscles to do something to mess you up.I was kind of wondering based on that, wasn't sure why one would swap bbls
